View Full Version : Please log out of Subeta.org
What I have read Ender and his wife hijacked subeta because of being fired.
If you go to Subetahq.com, Keith's youtube video is on the main page asking users to not use Subeta. org. There is more on the subject in the forums section on Subetahq.
What a mess.
Wow that is horrible. Couldnt imagine this happening to me :(. even though i dont play subeta
Ah. That sucks major, as I've been playing since it went down temporarily. I'm assuming that's when it was taken?
The whole site's been uber glitchy since the down time earlier today, I'm guessing that's when it happened? :C
Even the forums are down, so nobody can tell anybody else through a topic. Wonder if they planned for that.
HOW DASTARDLY.
I hope they get it under control soon.

Well, I've looked into it.
It does happen to look legit and I would recommend not to login to http://subeta.org.
Please be sure to change your passwords frequently and to change ALL passwords that were the same as your password on Subeta.org. Be careful guys, the internet can be a dangerous place.

It's true.
Apparnatly today their head programmer was fired, along with his wife.
they didn't seem to take it too well...
And now they're ransacking org.
I HIGHLY suggest you log out of org.
But I'd wait a while before logging into ws
Because so many people are trying to at the same time.
And for those complaining about it, stop. They're trying their best. At least the subeta staff gives enough of a damn about the users. =/
Wow, Subeta has a lot of problems with the site getting taken over by third parties =|
Keith should consider a backup plan before firing staff, such as changing passwords, etc?
It would be slightly helpful to only give the programmer access to their own database and ftp accounts, so that if you do have an issue with that staff member, you can either limit or terminate their individual privileges.
Non the less, if you're going to have staff working directly in the core of your site, it's a good idea to had a positive identification of that person, such as their full name, home address, phone number, etc. and verify such. This way if that person does cause a disruption where the site would be at risk, etc. that person can be identified for that.
Does anyone know why the programmer was fired in the first place?

:/ I saw a shop selling 1000 point wizard tokens for 1 sP and I bought some... But now I found out about this I'll have to get rid of em, eh?

Wow, talk about a temper tantrum.
I like your idea, Ben. Although things like this might not happen everyday to someone, it's still a threat that can happen at any time and information like that would be useful when bringing in the proper authorities.
According to SubetaHQ, the programmer lied, never came up with his promises, and didn't make any progress. About what I don't know though. If someone could please inform us more about it then I'd be grateful.
It's on the SubetaHQ forums, Carlos. If you have an account there go to 'Subeta Main' then 'The story so far'. Here's the link (http://www.subetahq.com/forums.php?act=read&topicid=4858).
To be honest, I never knew much about the staff, given my lack of browsing the forums and what not, but there's the link for you to make up your own opinion on this whole thing.
haha you would only die laughing if you found out who they wanted to take keiths spot!
didn't keith ban users for not speaking english? and doesn't he spend all the money he makes on that site on hair products? I hope that whoever took over the site gets to keep it, they'll be better than him at least
keith has the site back, but i think its funny of who they wanted to run it xDD

It has been reported numerous times that Keith did ban users who didn't speak English. I had a little fit about that earlier this year I believe. Ultimately though, I wasn't able to prove my constitutional theory quite as I envisioned it when I jumped the bandwagon and emailed him. But I still don't think that is right.
Anyhow, who really cares how Keith spends the money from account upgrades. It's his money, I don't believe it says anywhere that the profit is spent on the site. Keith is 18, I'm sure anyone else in his position would be funding a slice of their life from their site, eh?

I think part of the problem comes from the fact that the money could be used to get better servers and fix coding errors, judging by not-so-recent complaints about the site.
I agree with that. That site is usually always slow, with lots of downtime. And that has been going on for a very long time now. Keith should definitely consider investing in some more reliable servers, and a faster internet connection for it possibly.
