View Full Version : Skinny marapets?
I've never seen a problem with the skinny marapets as I find it as a unique feature and gives Marapets a unique look at the pets system, however; I recently came across this image that says the skinny marapets are bad.

I would think so too...I know it is more realistic, but face it, Marapets does have some publicity stunts in there like the Zac and Avril characters that throw the realism idea out the window.
Basically it is a bad idea.

I am not a huge fan of the skinny costumes, but it kind of is true. o.x

Why is it a bad idea though?

Well in this age of kids being overweight in the US, and skinny down there in Africa, such issues are trivial in today's society.
Now if Marapets was a true pet simulation, then I would think it is a great idea, since it shows what happens. However I feel that Marapets is like Neopets in that it wants to be popular, so the issues I've mentioned are also popular and trivial (like stars being skinny and bulimic).
I never really payed much attention to it. But it does seem like it´s representing real life in the way these celebrities nowadays will do anything to get ´the perfect body´
I dont really care about it, I dont see why people make such a fuss about it, its just pixel's.
Yes, it can be offensive, and so can the WHITE, BROWN,BLACK AND RED costumes.

If I read that correctly, the signature is actually saying skinny pets are a positive thing in how they show 'the dangers of eating disorders in a creative way', and with the current trend of being Olive Oyl-thin, it's hard believe that this costume wasn't simply made to stir up some controversy among Maradans.
I, personally, think it's just another costume.
Well as long as news writers of Marapets don't mention that it is supposed to 'educate' (I doubt it was their purpose anyway, please correct me if I am wrong, and education is technically the parent's job, some might complain about it I don't know) children about bulimia and anorexia, I do think it will be fine.
Edit: Yes I did misinterpret the picture, so bear with me.
