Are you wondering how you can make money from your virtual pet site? Well, don't even try until your virtual pet is getting enough traffic - has an active community and is growing.

Account upgrades:
Why don't you offer users the chance to upgrade to have better things on your virtual pet site? Such as; new items, new pets, new games, etc. Give them a reason to donate. Don't just put crap up that you think will make them buy because they won't - unless the offer is good. Subeta charges $5 for their gold accounts and its one main reason why Subeta continues to pay for its bills. You need to come up with a unique idea for upgrades. Why should they donate? Think about that.

Subeta's five dollar for upgrade is once a month. You can charge more for account upgrades... if you make the amount of time longer. NuP, for example, has a higher fee (fifteen for the lowest level upgrade), but it's a permanent upgrade. You don't have to fork over the amount ever again once you upgrade. Advantage is that you get more money upfront and users are interested since it's a one time fee. Disadvantage is that you can only get the money once, so you have to continue to offer other excellent things to donate for.

Not sure when system is better, but the price does need to be right if people are going to donate. :)
