So, what kind of games are a must on a virtual petsite? Or, do you have any ideas for games? You never know, maybe a VPS owner will see this topic and use your ideas!

But... This is mostly for PHP games, because I know its hard to come up with ideas for PHP based games that aren't chance/random. xD

How many php games do you currently have?
Quests games are usually the most popular.

Are you asking Galapets? Or like, everyone? xD

But, we don't have any yet D: Well, we did have a few but I wanna redo them. And we had a quest system too... But... I'm gonna recode that also. xD

I was asking about Galapets. :)
Well.. There's many php game ideas out there - you can make quests games, trivia games, etc.

Ideas...well I would like to see quest style games that mean something to the players than just here is an item or a point reward. Say for example a series of quest to gain an extra rare pet, or color, or in the case of games like rescreatu, a rare form of egg not found anywhere else. The quest would consist of item gathering within the theme of the quest, random but of a select set of items. Then the quest would also require you to go and explore certain parts of the world, encouraging exploration, when they get to the right place, a token of proof is given to return to the quest giver.

Lastly I would also suggest and in such a game, the items are used after they are given to discourage sales of the items, it will happen but if the supply is limited it will still be hard to gain them and at a greater cost. This could be allowed as an unlimited game since the items and the locations needed are random each time.

just an idea.

Ah...card games, here is my input there.

If you remember the game Dragonmaster back in the 80's then you know what I am talking about right off, basicly you take a traditional card game like hearts, poker, blackjack, etc. and make it work for your theme, not just by putting a prefix to it, but make the rules fit your site, for example;

Flatari - A card game from a fire-based world.

Rules are based on blackjack, but because the race (i.e. Pets) that made it are four fingered including a thumb. The number to get to is based on that so say 28, the terms used in the game are changed to fit as well, so a push might be called a tie to keep the player from have too much of a learning curve, blackjack might called an eruption, and so on.

Taking games that exist and making them fit your theme is a sure way to keep the feeling alive that the world they are in is a place and not just a bunch of stuff they did not read anyways. Even if your not doing role-playing as a focus, using role-playing elements from the pencil and paper games will help make players feel this place is different and might just get them to read the backstory of the world you as the owner took the time to create.

Well, maybe some simpel memory game, or solitaire, or something along those lines. Most cardgames aren't too difficult to learn and a lot of people play then, so they might be good for a petsite. Maybe check wikipedia for more ideas XD
