Teach me programming?

I'm looking for a programmer who'd be willing to take me as an apprentice. :)
To teach me PHP/Mysql with respect to pet sites. If I can get down the basics, I can run after tutorials online and buy books, but I've never been anything less than an immersion leaner - so I sort of need a teacher.

Some of the ones I've looked at cost money. But the problem is, they teach general PHP/Mysql, while I'm really looking to zero in on the pet-site related things (what I'd need to know to do basic stuff on a pet site).

Sams Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL and Apache is a wonderful book. :D

You could always take a class at school in programming. Most good classes teach you how to plan a project and get it done. Learning a programming language (Such as Java) is a big help in learning any other languages.
