Need Advices for starting Virtual petsite

I just got an inspriation to create my own petsite with an interesting theme that keep people enjoy to play games and stuff like normal petsites. That theme that I have in mind, I wasn't sure if that "theme" is often used in various petsites. >.>; I don't want to said it or it will erupt a new theme for new petsites that haven't made. I wasn't looking through ALL of the petsites or even registered other than Sutopets, Evodragon, and Nutrinopets. So I am not sure if "theme" that I have in mind is often used.

Hell, I'd like to know how to start the virtual petsite and where am I supposed to go in which direction such as legal process, money issue and stuff like that need to be watch out for. I know nothing about codes, I said nothing. Only thing I can do is drawing some interesting items and pets. In the future, I will need programmers, artists, writers, and even Moderators to be able to work together to be able to open my petsite to public.

Anyway, Don't you mind giving me some advices?

I might not able to start that goal, but I'll have that in mind when the next summer arrives again because I have life. It's nice to know the basic rules and things that are necessary to do first, et cetra that early. =D So, it will give me more time to think and if I can do that or not.

CPVR, I haven't decide on the name, but I don't want to have the ending word of "Pets." It is over-used. My boyfriend (A.K.A. Cimerii) seem to agree with this kind of responsible to manage everything on the petsite as owners. I'm willing to take responsible to take care/manage the site while I have another responsible to do to deal with my life. Everyone have their own life, right?

For the money issue, I do have some and Cimerii is kind of thinking of spend less half of his money combined with mine to pay for everything that they are supposed to be paid for. >.>; For now, we are thinking about everything in ahead of time.

Well, it doesn't matter if "pets" are overused. It's what keeps the community going.

I prefer to be able to be different from some of the petsites with the ending of "Pets." That doesn't sound original name to me with that ending. Those names are impressive in my point of view than compare to "pets" ending.

Yeh my site "Mysticata" doesnt have pets in its name eigher, so i can agree with you on that.

Make sure you are 100% certain that you are dedicated, a VPS is alot of work.

I agree with you 100% Kelanialania about the pets at the end being over used. Alot of places do not use it and have great results. (Rescreatu) for one.

Fantasia, I'm artist, but I am in need of hiring artists for sure. >.> I can't do that ALL of the drawing on my own or else I will drive myself to the edge of insanity. For the programmers, I do need a lot of help on this one to keep the petsite to look organized and able to navigate around the site, you know? I know nothing about the codes.

That's why I am taking my time to think about this and see if that's wise for me to do or not. Cimerii want to discuss this in person rather than on MSN so it will be work out more easier with less confusing before we can decided on this matter.


Fly: I feel about that word being over used and it doesn't seem impressed with me anymore. Whatever the words that come with the ending of Pets is obviously giving out a hint about petsite.
