Alright, so I've gotten a lot of new ideas and insights, so I thought I'd post a new thread about this. :)
So I finally bought the domain virtuefriends.com. Great. I'm still not opening for a while. Once most of the features are working I'll open beta for my friends and staffers only. I think opening beta for "the first ____ users to join" is not a very good idea. You need to know that the system's 100% working before you let in people you don't know or trust. You also don't want to let people in before the features are fully implemented because they might join thinking "oh, that's a neat idea" then see it doesn't work, leave, and forget about the site. I'm going to try and have several features that are different from other petites' features, or at least changed enough to be original. [article may be lengthened later]
Features I'm planning on implementing:
Human character system(much more than just a "dress-up avatar")
Special quests, one of which gets you a secret account upgrade(but you didn't hear it from me!)
A realistic economy, community, etc.
Go to interactive places, like attending church for example
Special rewards
Pets can breed
More dynamic pets, with different species having different features
Human, not pet, battle system
And much more!
I'm a bit hesitant to give away this much info so early, but I want to get people interested. I currently need helpers, but I'm afraid I can't offer paid positions at the moment. All staff and contributors will get due recognition and rewards once the site's functioning. Plus staff gets to test beta.
Positions needed:
PHP Programmers
HTML coders(need someone to fix the layout a bit actually)
Artists
Graphics Artists
When I get new updates I want to share I'll post them here too!
