I'm looking for a programmer or two to help with the coding of my virtual pet site, Caitlings. I've been poking around the vPet scripts to try and learn more about php/mySQL coding, but there are some aspects that I don't believe I can do myself.

I have a domain already, a couple of artists, and someone to help me with the legal jargon. If you'd like to see some of the concept sketches, just ask. The Caitlings themselves are large felines, such as panthers, though there will be a variety of different cats (eg a half fish one, or a really fluffy snow leopard-eqsue thing).

For the coding, I'm looking for the general things. I can code a layout myself, so I just need the hard coding, and I can probably do the more basic bits myself; I would use the vPet scripts for some of it, but I'd prefer everything to be custom made.

What I need (including the very simple stuff):
- Login/logout/registration
- Profiles
- Currency
- Bank
- Customisable shops (with restocks, hopefully)
- User shops
- Trades? (Not essential, though preferred. Same with auctions.)
- Items (basic inventory, doesn't need to have anything like a safe, though there needs to be the option to stick the items in your shop, give them to another user, or equip them to a Caitling)
- Forums
- Admin panel? (Will make it easier if there are some tools on site for doing the general stuff, like banning a member/editting points/adding site shops)
- Caitlings (The most complex; there will be a variety of different breeds of Caitlings, and the Caitlings will be able to have various markings and additions like wings or horns. The Caitlings should be able to come in any color, including all the markings and the mutations. Hopefully they should be transferable to others as well.)
- Breeding (Making it so that the Caitlings can breed, if one male and one female, with hopefully a pedigree for each one accessable and being a mix of their parents' colours and markings/mutations)
- Equippable items for the Caitlings (such as accessories or even backgrounds)
- Custom creation, so people can create their own custom Caitling for a set amount of US $.
- A donation system, where people get special dollar points per dollar they donate, or something. :3 These dollar points can be used to make the customs, buy special items, or upgrade your account.
- Account upgrades (Normal would be just the basic, Upgraded might have a higher interest rate in the bank, more room in their pack for more Caitlings, special items, ect)

I -think- that's it, though I may have missed something. :3 If you have any questions, please ask.

I can pay through paypal (though I don't have a ton of money, so I can't afford to pay a fortune) or through staff benefits once the site is open- forever upgraded account, points per week, general stuff, and also a percentage of the real money that the site will make, from custom Caitlings and from the donations.

Thanks if you look at this, and please post an approximate cost instead of just saying 'I'll do it!!!'.

Hello there!

My name is Andrew, I've been coding for around 2 years. I believe I can code the Login/Logout/Register for you. Oh yeah, do you need a news script? I could code that, as well as the add/edit/and delete news. But thats if you want it. The login/Logout/Register would be around $4 BUT you can say if $4 is to low or high, I work quick and I'm happy to negotiate prices.

Please feel free to contact me by P.M or by the following emaill address.
andrew.king601[AT]gmail.com just replace the [AT] with the @ symbol.

Thank you for considering me.
Andrew

I'm really looking for someone to do everything, or for someone to do everything apart from the actual Caitling setup/breeding section and someone else to do that seperately, since I think I can manage things like the login/logout myself.

Thank-you anyway. ^^

Are you a fan of Wajas?
Just wondering. ;)
Your set up sounds a lot like theirs.

Yes, but there are a lot of other sites out there with a breeding system likes Wajas. :P Wajas itself was originally based on PonyIsland.
