Lodithia is going to have a child company: Firecat Publications.

You know how pet sites will have story contests, and the best stories win points and items?

Well, on Lodithia, the best stories of the month (compilation, and of course funds permitting) will be published AS A BOOK (physical book! Like from a bookstore!) - 12 Lodithia-related stories published and available for the coming year. Users will receive additional prizes for purchasing the books and supporting the authors (who will be users!).

Any opinions on this?

This will be great :). I might just have to get working on this. Could be a great boost towards getting my own book/s published. Publishers pay mre attention when you have previos publishing history, no matter how minor.

Very true, very true.

A deal with Lightning Source would cost upwards of $500+ per book (if we have a compilation of 12 best Lodithia stories published around Xmas time), so to be able to implement this idea, Lodithia would have to make a lot of money through the HRC shop. o_o'

I know you've probably had a look at it before, but you could use Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/uk/products/paperback/) for the first few until you have the funds for a better deal. Might not be ideal if you're concerned about copyrights or keeping it all to one supplier.

We're opening to release maybe one or two a year, in conjunction with another site. :)
