Has anyone else noticed that Marapets is down? I tried checking up on it last night and I couldn't get to the website at all...
Does anyone have any news as to why Marapets is down?

They've been up for me the entire time.
That's weird... Does it connect right away for you or what? It won't even load up for me so I don't even know what's wrong.

I was able to log on today without any problems. You're not missing anything though, really. No updates to the War Shop, no new opponents, just a few old problems corrected. I had my hopes up with this War event, but it's been a huge disappointment, what with the lack of updates and actual activities. I've found myself elsewhere quite a bit now. :\

Mara is a big disappointment.... everything is slow... no easter, war is boring and draw out.... too many site problems it seems. Ian will figure it all out one of these days...

I don't think so because I haven't been online or done anything to get an IP ban, so I really don't know.

It must be some error on their end because I know its not on mine.
There have been TONS of little glitches the past few weeks. Ian went away and the site fell apart. Nothing the Blue staff could do they needed Ian and, well, you know how that goes... :X

We are almost complete with our quick Maintenance work on some of the busiest sections of the site. User Shops have finally been fixed so they can only allow the correct numbers of items in them - you will need to upgrade your shop size to hold more items. Your shop items have been moved to your Attic, but you can now easily and quickly move and price the items in your shop. Galleries will be back in a few hours, along with the Forums and News Commenting.

The second attack is on! Head over to the Battle Arena now to fight either a Kevadra or a Wizadrip.
These two new cute Chibs pet colours have been released - in Snow and Furry costumes!
Because of the ongoing War, it is too unsafe for Easter Eggs to be hidden around Marada - the Easter Bunny was even kidnapped! The war should be finished by next weekend, so we can start the Easter Egg Hunt then.

The Easter Bunny appears to have been kidnapped by newths. His egg basket was deserted this morning, there was only a note saying:

The MBI (Maradan Bureau of Investigation) are currently hard at work trying to trace the kidnappers and rescue the bunny. The Easter hunt WILL happen once we get him back, there just might be a slight delay.

Minipet Island Land War - Part 4
Happy News!
We bring good news today, on a rather unexpected outcome to a secret peace conference that has being occuring to discuss the war. During their attendance at the conference, it is rumoured that King Baspinar XIII and Queen Eleka had been conducting private talks on the future of Maradas ecology in respect to the large number of Muskits and Swondors that have been killed as a result of the war.
It was announced today that during these talks the two rivals fell in love and were married in a secret ceremony several days ago! We also bring you the happy news that Queen Eleka is already expecting their heir to the throne. The happy couple have revealed that they intend to name their first-born Princess Laimay III (we just hope that it turns out to be a girl!) The Laimay will be our 40th species of Marapet, and will be the rarest of all the limited edition pets. We are not quite sure when it will arrive, as Eleka has declined to comment on the due date.
Obviously, the ongoing war is now cancelled, but there will still be plenty of changes happening to the site as Elekas castle is to be immadiately vacated, and work is commencing on Baspinars Castle to "bring it out of the dark ages and make it fit to live in" as Eleka tactfully puts it. War points will soon also be spendable in a new nursery shop that is opening soon.
So I'm guessing on April 14, 2007 Ian returned and started working on Marapets or is that Laimay?

If you do what Herb posted, then you might be able to access Marapets again. Its not working for me, but Ian is working on it.. It's a server problem most likely.

I am, I haven't been able to get on mara at all today and was able yesterday for about 20mins then it went down again for me :(

yeppers I'm able to get into mara now but there's no staff on to tell about the problem and I was trying to search shops to do a mission and the search is down for me. Thankfully I found the items :) I sure hope they get it all fixed

I am not meaning to be a rude bastard or anything like that, but I gave Ian a virus that has shut down the site TEMPORARILY. This is not permanent so dont panic. I just scanned through his ports, found a backdoor to and open port, and stuck a virus in it. What the virus does is sends a signal to the server to restart automatically after 2 minutes for security purposes. I am just pissed off at the way Ian treats everyone. When Ian doesn't like you or the way you play, he bans you. I made a simple mistake of going into the minus dukka exchange balance and got banned. I had been working 10 months on my account, and had over 100 Million MP in pure MP and Items. THEN, he accessed Ann's(skitz8122) account, started stealing her items, and sending them to random people. I think this is total bullshit. So I am sorry to all the users who actually like Marapets. It should be back up by late tonight, or early tomorrow.
P.S. He also stole $22 from me for AU money I waited 2 months for. He banned me then cashed the cheque.

They say it is 'cheating'. But it was a simple mistake of holding enter when taking out 2 dukkas. I held it down for to long and it went to like -50 or something. Then I got a warning, ricobob mailed me and said i have 30 seconds to explain myself or I am banned. So I was like w/e, and have just been going back randomly to find more glitches =D.
Oh, so those were the glitches that were being fixed? Well, abusing a glitch is cheating, isn't it?

I didn't abuse it though, I did it by accident. I put the dukkas in my gallery. Mailed staff, and told them twhat had happened. Ricobob mailed me and told me I had 30 seconds to explain myself. So I just said fxck it, and just got banned. But now I just go back to find more glitches, xD.
Oh, dang that sucks. Isn't there a "delete item" feature that auto-deletes the item from your inventory?

I thought I saw it a while back, but what I think they're doing is they've just temporarily banned you and will reinstate your account as soon as possible, but I'm not to sure.

P.S. Here is the list of glitches I found and abused.
- Bank minus balance; Made over 157 million MP in 5 minutes.
- Dukka Exchange minus balance, made 99,348 dukkas in the matter of 20 minutes.
- Blitzen and all other missions. If you start a mission you cant finish, just do another mission.
- Sword in the stone. Hold enter when you win(if you take the money).
- Gym. Hold enter when finishing a stat.
- Would you like me to keep going? And they all worked until Ian got smart and patched them.

I hacked your site, and gave your servers a virus. haha i havent played mara in about a month or two now ever since the war started it just hasnt been fun all the members have been battling to much and spending all there mps on war stuff so they cant buy my items i want to sell i go on every once in awile to feed my lovely little ercuw hehe!!! and sometimes go to my club and maybe try to sell an item or two sometimes!!! but ian the site is not as much fun as it was when i FIRST stated in November and ive spent 300 dollars + on AU'S for the servers in febuary and there just getting fixed XD just curious how much do the servers cost to get a new one???

There is a whole bunch of posts about that Tim666 guy grumping about stuff (no point in rehashing) and how he hacked marapets and stuff. I was just reading this thread from the beginning, while I waited for the site to start again.
The majority of the posts on this thread are from a different downtime, but I guess it is possible that he did it again??

Is marapets about to crash again. It loads wayyyyyyy slow this morning, after working great last night. There are 1700 members online but I sent a few emails on there and then it slowed right down and won't load the whole page, if even at all. Yes I deleted my cookies and all that. :) Just wondering if anyone else's is loading slow.

yep, its been down for me since lastnight..tried to get on to see if the advent calender was working since it wasn't loading earlier in the evening and the site wouldn't even load

Yesterday was a blank page but today I can get to the log in page. Only I can't log in completely. When I put in my password I get a server error.

Mara has been down for me since Saturday and I kept getting server errors until today.
My daughter has been able to log on so I assumed that the server I was on totally crashed.
Today when I logged on, I saw "your account is banned" message. I have no idea why that should have happened. I have never had more than one account....I have followed all of the rules...I have sent them an email early this morning (central time) asking for an explanation and have not received any reply.
I am assuming that maybe the server crashing may have done something, but then again it may be some other mistake. I plan to email them every three days for about 2 weeks and then if they do not answer...goodbye Mara....which is too bad...I have always supported the site when others have complained...but I know that the public relations area is weak too.
Has this happened to anyone else?
