Everytime I go to Subeta, I get this error:

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /news.php (http://www.subeta.org/news.php). Reason: Error reading from remote server

It's lucky if I can even get into the site.

It works fine here, just was slow in connecting.

It's very slow to me.. even with only 600 users on.

Hmm...I do notice larger pages (such as news) puts a strain on the CPU.

It's the News page, I find, and the forums that are causing this error. Arg!

Well are you using a proxy?

No, I do not use a proxy.

No, I do not use a proxy.

Well unless someone else has the exact same error message, most of the time proxies exist on the client side.

I use a direct connection to my ISP, no proxy, I know that.
I think this may be the load balancer or something for Subeta?

Unless Subeta uses a proxy to prevent people hacking into the system (which could be the case), I am not sure.

Is it still generating the errors?

Are their servers STILL doing badly? How long has he had the new server? Over a month right? Rather sucky that the servers still are not doing that great. I wonder if he'll need to upgrade again.

My Wocky thinks it really isn't the servers, it's those controlling it. In my view, I think it translates to improper setup.

Their coding sucks - so they'll be slow no matter what.

This seems to be more of a "too much data coming from the server and overloading the slave servers/load balancers" type of issue.

At least they should fix it to where it doesn't jam the processor when loading pages, that's annoying.

I think it's mysql overloading the site. And Apache. There is a chance he didn't modify the Apache httpd.conf for optimization, nor did he create a custom my.cnf.... PHP.ini may be causing some issues aswell. The proxy error, could be due to improper setup of load balancer / redirection portal... Keef needs to spend more time fixing things.
