My thoughts before creating the rules: I don't want this site to be like Neopets or like your run of the mill pet sites. I want the rules atmosphere to be more like Slopdog, my mothership ;) : a relaxed environment where you can discuss what you want.. without stupid rules like "no swearing" ... you know what I mean.

Keep in mind the site is built on a framework of all users must be 13 to register and play; preferably, they should be 16+.

Terms and Conditions

By signing up and playing on the Lodithia.com website, you agree that you will follow all of our terms and conditions. If you don't follow the terms and conditions, your account could be suspended, frozen, or authorities contacted if any illegal activity is done.

However, keep in mind the site is pretty lax on rules. We won't freeze your account if you do something accidentally, but keep in mind the staff does have the power and ability to enforce the rules. If you have a question, please contact us immediately.

1. You may not sell anything from Lodithia for USD or any other real life currency. This includes items, pets, accounts, ANYTHING.

2. You're allowed to use Lodithia artwork off the site, as long as you give us credit and link back to the site. If it's Lodithia related graphics, that's completely fine. You can't make money off Lodithia graphics or use them on your own pet-related site, though.

3. Don't be stupid. If you don't trust someone, don't give them your e-mail address, real name, address, etc. If you trust them and give them any information, any consequences are yours and you will not hold Lodithia or its staff responsible for it.

4. If someone's being an idiot, report them. Remember that other users are on this site, so not everything can be monitored by a staff member. If it makes you uncomfortable, report it to an online moderator.

5. Respect the community. Please do not do the following:
- "cyber" in community forums/anywhere public (You're welcome to romance roleplay, but anything that happens in the bedroom shouldn't be described for everyone to view... you are allowed to "cyber" over PM, but ONLY if the other person ACCEPTS BEFOREHAND... be sure to ask them... because if they report you, that's YOUR FAULT)
- slandering or defaming another person in public (if you wanna insult someone over pm, that's your business, as long as you're not PMing that person)
- use materials created by someone else without their permission (EVER!)
- link to outside websites anywhere but your profile/signature (that includes pet sites. You can discuss them, but don't spam your referral link)
- use profanity excessively (this is a 13+ website, so you won't be banned if you slip up, just don't go overboard and swear someone out)
- talk about or distribute cheats or hacks (for ANY pet-related site!)
- request for anyone's password
- scam anyone
- spam the boards or spam user inboxes
- other acts that Lodithia or its staff deems inappropriate

6. You are only allowed ONE account. If you'd like your account name changed, PM an administrator and they will see what they can do. In the future, if you want a name change, you might have to buy a special item from the donation shop.

7. Don't cheat. If you want to cheat, go to Slopdog. XD

8. Submissions Policy: If you post something on Lodithia, you are thereby giving us a limited license to use whatever you post in any manner we wish, royalty-free. You still retain rights to what you post, but you allow us to use it however we want. This includes graphics, ideas, stories, etc.

9. Children under the age of 13 are NOT allowed to play on Lodithia without permission from their parents. This site is NOT for little kids. If you are under 13 and sign up for Lodithia despite our warning and something offends you, it's YOUR FAULT. Remember, if you want to sign up and you're under 13, get your parents' permission and explain what you're going to do on the site. Keep in mind the site has forums and private mail.

Opinions?

So far it covers all the points I had in mind (e.g. one on one mature role plays should be done privately).

I figure on my site, Private Messages are just that - private. You can do whatever you want over PM as long as it doesn't break general site rules (no illegal activity, etc).

Pretty much, though will it be totally private or do admins periodically glance around?

Also you might want to expand on a few words, as they seem too broad sometimes.

I think I'm going to redo the rules to make them a little easier to understand / explain a bit.

I think we solely rely on users reporting a PM they don't like to look into it. Otherwise, it'd be a lot of unnecessary work to look through pms individually.

Hmm...Well that should be fine then. Probably might want to work on organization (everything centered isn't recommended for a long page).

True. What do you suggest?

Put the rules with greater importance (or rules people tend to slip on) at the top. For example not everyone will be using Lodithia artwork outside Lodithia, so it should be lower on the list.

That's a good point. I'll prioritize them.

Nothing else comes to mind. Duplication is OK for emphasis (cheating for example).

They sound good, Sar already pointed out the stuff I had in mind.
I´m looking forward to Lodithia, sounds like a good site.
Is there a release day set?

Not ENTIRELY set, because I wanted to have it open for public on Thanksgiving, but then I remember I sleep most of the day ;)

Not so good...

Explain why?

I would probably change any real life currency with any currency what-so-ever eg: they may sell over a program like second life in which the "fake cash" can be exchanged for real cash.

The only thing is, I don't really mind if they trade for game currency. Second life is an exception though since it can be sold for USD... -.x

There is no set exchange rate for any currency that you switch to, so it could be very easy to scam a person by giving them the wrong rate.

I'm so glad to see you asking for opinions on the rules. They are often what make or break a site.

I think overall it would look a lot more professional if you edited out the words 'idiot', 'stupid', and so on. I would also avoid caps if it's in the context of yelling as opposed to bolding a title.

Otherwise, they're great! ^^ And I'm usually a very opinionated about rules.
