I had to trundicate the user table, just so you know. Sign up with a new account.
Why? There was a security problem. Register was posting passwords w/o encrypting them, and obviously that's a problem. So we redid register and dropped the user table. It's all good now. Everything in the site is to stay!
I see. Well I've created a new account then.

Oh come on, that could have been easily fixed.
<?php
function exec1($query) {
$query = mysql_query($query);
mysql_free_result($query);
return $query;
}
$query = @mysql_query("SELECT password,username FROM user");
while ($info = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) {
$password = sha1(base64_encode($info[password]));
exec1("UPDATE user SET password='$password' WHERE username={$query[username]}");
?>
Note, the above is basic, I am sure you could be imaginitive and create something better.

DC is awesome xD
But you enabled the revents too quickly... I had turned them off until I could assess how much they would give out XD Oh well, fixed now.
When I log in I get a blank page... XD And then I click go again and it takes me to the login place for the second time, asking for my PIN... which I never set. @_@;

A blank page there means you didn't put something in right...
Well, I log in on the main page where it asks you for your pass and username, which I know are right. XD I get a blank page...
Then I get a page after the blank one with username, pass, and PIN. I never set my PIN cause I didn't know how. @_@;; I joined back in October 16th.

Viral contacted the host, but they said it has to do with the ISP and it's client side.
But obviously they are wrong.

The shared server Lodithia is overloaded. The host prolly took the site down.

That's because the site has been what I call "nulled". That means no traffic can get to your site. Told ya a dedicated would of been better. :)
Also- mod_security, which seems to be installed, would also cause this error. It prevents too many requests from coming in and automatically blocks site for an hour the first time and forever the next when the max amount of requests have gone through.
(and I know I will be challenged by a server admin for saying this stuff)

Null a directory?
They're all on the same thing.
E.G.:
mysite.com/lodithia/
mysite.com/regnum/
mysite.com/business/
etc.
I did get a message back from my host. They said that if I had the problem again they'd look into it. That was 30 min ago <<

No, it nulled the domain name, not the directory.
Hosts aren't as reliable as you think. ;)

We figured out the problem and are assessing it. Lodi should be fine after I get the domains switched. It didn't get any reasonable amount of bandwith as an addon, so I have to make it my main.

Viral contacted the host, but they said it has to do with the ISP and it's client side.My client doesn't give 503 errors. If they are trying to tell you that a 503 is a problem with my ISP, they are defrauding you - as defined by RFC 2616, 5xx codes indicate a *server* error to be sent when the server is unable to fulfill a valid request.
I suggest you ask to speak with that individual's manager, because they are *not* qualified to be doing support for a webhosting provider if they don't know that.
Depending on what is causing the error, the Apache error log may have details on *why* it's giving 503s. I know the error log is available through cPanel, if your host has that set up. If not, you may have to poke around for logfiles.

It turns out lodithia is an addon, and they only allow 250 meg/day for addons (bandwith). I'm switching it to my main (10 gig a day). If there's still a problem with lodi eating too much bandwith, i'll start seeking out a VPS.
What do you guys think? Is 10 gig/day ample?

There is really no way to use that much. Unless you have heavy images (very big sizes) then you would. But no, there is no way to use that much. It's not possible for such a small site.

Whew, I'm glad to hear that. That said, Lodi should be okay from now on. I'm backing everything up, then it's going to do a server swap. When the server swap occurs, we'll be in smooth waters again :D

Viral

- Art boards
- An ongoing online story (what happens in the story affects the site worlds)
- flash games (if we're talking about other developing VPS's)
upcoming:
- a R-L worlds system (instead of like... static random planets/continents)

Yeah, but the reboot didn't help. Somehow, the"network interfaces", otherwise known as the IPs, deactivated themselves and the tech is having problems getting them back on.
