Subeta vs Marapets

Subeta and Marapets are both the top pet sites right now - and are going to both blow up possibly in the next year, so what pet site do you think is better than the other?

I'd go with Marapets on this because it has faster servers, has more players and is easier to navigate.

Do you think Subeta can surpass Marapets and become the larger pet site in the next year or two?

I can't stick with Marapets, I struggle so much with the volume of adverts and I much prefer the art on Subeta.

I find the visual side of Subeta much more professional and aimed at more of a teen and older audience, Marapets seemed to be aimed younger.

However, the recent problems etc. with staffing and the chans make me question Subeta's success more. I don't know, if they can pull it together then maybe they can push forward, I know my preference!

I also disagree with the 'ease of navigation' comment about Marapets, I struggle to see past the adverts to know where to go!!

Subeta may be quite popular/known, but it still has 2.3 million less users than marapets, so what exactly do you mean by surpass?

I don't believe Subeta is THAT great, but I do believe it's heaps better than Marapets. I swear Marapets isn't even trying to be a good site. They just pay for quantity (users) with advertising while Subeta focuses on visuals more than anything.

I talked to Keith about future features and such, if it's true that he'll be releasing a lot of the features he mentioned to me. Then they may surpass or come close to Marapets pretty rapidly and also be potential competition for me D= (in the sense of content, not members/statistics)

For now marapets, I think subeta would surpass if they did have a .com domain. However they don't but I myself kept using .com until a friend of mine told me it was .org >.> so that my be a key factor itself ^^

Never really thought much about the different between .com and .org on pet sites. Though .org is typically used for non-profit organizations which Subeta sometimes touches the line in my view (however anyone can use .org as they please).

Marapets has a lot more features than Subeta does. Sure, both sites differ in the visuals department, but content is king.

Seems like you have an attitude ;) Apparently you don't know English either because I just said "if it's true that he'll be releasing a lot of the features he mentioned to me." which means.. They're not released yet. The features spoken to Keith were similar to some of my concepts which is why I considered them being competition if they release those features. Why does my site have to be open for me to consider them competition? You still have to look out for other sites whether you're still in beta, development, or what have you.

Why does my site have to be open for me to consider them competition? You still have to look out for other sites whether you're still in beta, development, or what have you.That's true - but why don't you try to compete with a small pet site first?;)

It's better to always strive for better. I'll be competing in statistics against what ever site is closest ranked to me just to make sure our traffic is always improving, but I like to strive for more as far as content, visuals, etc. I'd prefer not to talk about my site though, I really don't want anyone to know about it as of now.

Subeta relies purely on word of mouth until Keith launches an advertising campaign, or implements a referral system so Subeta can really flourish.

Personally, my choice would be Subeta. Marapets is more popular, though...Marapets is more well known than Subeta, but I find Subeta has better graphics and news updates.

I don't think I would choose either one. Maybe subeta for their artwork but that's about it. Marapets is failing and Subeta is not getting any better.

Becuase it has the nice art like Subeta, a nice atmosphere and nice staff, unlike subeta, fun activties and games like Mara, and no ads, unlike mara.

I've never played either of the two.

Almost. It's very close, primarily because marapets is losing traffic, not because they are gaining it. They passed MaraPets in Mid April 2007 though.
