Is it me or is Subeta one of the only pet sites that has a ton of server problems? Why can't they fix all the server problems?

Is it just me - or does it seem like the more servers that they add, or upgrade - they run into even more problems.

Agreed XD It's why I got annoyed with it >_< The art is fantastic still, though

Could it be possible in addition to the server problems that there is poor database management?

No, it's that they're servers aren't all connected to each other. They don't have a load balancer.

Well how many servers does Subeta have to begin with?

I'm not sure really. http://wikibeta.mbif.net/index.php/Subeta_servers

Four servers; one is MySQL, one is nfsd and the other two are PHP.

They might not be meshing well is my view.

All servers are made in a Chinese (Taiwan to be very specific) background, TYAN. In other words while there are headquarters and plants located worldwide, it is still a Chinese company. I mean it could be like Lenovo which it is all good, but still something to look over.

Well.. The server's hardware is pretty good - but they can't keep subeta up. Maybe they need another MySQL server that's more powerful than the current one.

When Subeta has server problems it's usually because of MySQL or apache.

Well my general idea is not really server power but proper maintenance of the hardware and databases. You could have the fastest hardware, but if it running an inefficient or inaccurate setup it simply is not going to work.

.. main reason is because Keef doesn't want to fool with the server.. he'll more than likely break it.. knowing him.

Keith actually hired others to deal with the Subeta servers. Now that EnderBSD is the 'Chief Technical Officer', I do believe that he handles all server related issues now...

Perhaps THAT'S the problem?

Ya, I believe EnderBSD optimized the servers earlier. It's running fast today.

Subeta, the Process;
1. Everything is zipping along
2. It starts to slow down, eventually moves slower than a snail with indigestion
4. Goes down for 5 minutes, go back to line 1
5.???
6. Sorry, no profit.

Anything that calls on the database (searching shops for instance) seems to take forever as well, unless you catch it at the right time.

As long as the forums behave, I'm happy. (Reasonably)

Well, it may have been running fast. But they reopened the Blue Building, AND most American schools are now out (which means more players online).... I am already getting error messages. =/

Yeah, I edited my post. ;)

What I was getting at is look at the site right now... It's dead again. So whatever EnderBSD did to the servers was a temp. fix at best, because Subeta sill can not handle it's evening hour traffic without having issues...
