By now you've probably heard of Cafepress.com, where you can upload your logo and have people buy merchandise with it printed on it.

So, do the prospects of having your pet site's logo on a shirt attract you?

Do you ever have plans on selling your pet site's custom merchandise like Neopets began doing with their logo a few years back?

I know Amanda used it for Zetapets when she worked for them. I'm not sure how much it made though, but it produced enough to pay the server bills.

That's a good idea if you have a recognizable and brandable image

There is also spreadshirt
If i remember rightly

It's T-Shirt Druck - T-Shirts bedrucken und selbst gestalten : Spreadshirt (http://www.spreadshirt.net)
and Custom T-shirts - Design, buy or sell customized TShirts : Spreadshirt (http://www.spreadshirt.com)
No, i'm not loosing it, there is multiple shops for Locale.

It's very similar you can sell clothes, mouse mats, clocks, mugs, teddies, bags, badges, bumper stickers etc..

I preffer it as it also gives you your own shop, Cafepress didnt seem to do so, and if it did, it looked just like Cafepress... With spread shirt i noticed, you can put Text and a Design onto a product, cafepress seemed to only take one or the other.

if it was something really cool I'd get it. I've also been wondering, how much do you make when a T-shirt is sold?

I wouldn't do it, that's for sure.

No one needs another Neo.

It works like this for both .. There is a base price.. for example £10.. This is the minimum price it will cost, but Cafepress/Spredshirt get this for the material.. Then you can boost the price however much you like... say, another £10... The item now costs £20 .. So £10 baseprice goes to Cafepress/Spreadshirt and you get whatever you put on top, in this case the £10

Just 'cause you sell a t-shirt with your sites logo on it doesn't make it another Neopets. There's nothing wrong with selling products relating to your site. People don't like Neopets because while they focus a lot on products and money, their human interaction and service for their customers are very poor. If it were excellent, it wouldn't be nearly as big a deal now would it? I don't see what's the problem with earning money off of a site, petsite or not, as long as service to your users is sustained and cared for. If you can make money for hard work and your time investment, wouldn't you?

Fantasia: Oh, I guess that's not so bad. I thought you only got a tiny amount, but that seems like a fair trade.

I agree thier Service is very poor, often never even getting a reply.
Also, i agree again, it seems these days, if one small idea has been done, it automatically means no one else can do it, but why? Why not sell products? just because Neopets did, it, all of a sudden, no one else is allowed and we are considered copying Neo?..

It's not bad :) .. As most of the Base Prices are low, so you can earn a good £20+, and if your Designs are good quality, even more ....
