Why do you think Subeta doesn't try to monetize (http://www.virtualpetsblog.com/2007/11/07/subeta-fails-to-monetize/) and make more money? We all know Subeta's main source of revenue is there gold accounts + donation items, but if they actually tried to put up an ad or two?

I'm sure Google adsense will be able to produce a bit for them on a daily basis.

Because they have gold accounts that go for $5 a month that enhance the site. Doesn't sound like much when thinking of one person, but I believe a lot of users have that so they can get items and pet slots.

I would rather put some of the money back into the site.

I like the fact that they don't have any ads, one of the reasons I tend to prefer Subeta actually. I guess they could make more money with ads, but I really appreciate that they choose not to have them.

I think they make enough money with their gold accounts and donation presents. More users buy them than you'd think.

First off, if Subeta is banned from google they would not be able to use adsense on the site. But there are other options.

Secondly, maybe he does not want to run ads simply because that might be a factor (His opinion) in why he gets/keeps so many of the users. As with any game, players get upset when ad's are added to a site. They assume it slows page load times down.

Although I don't agree with all the things that go on at Subeta, I still respect Keith as a person. I have known him for years, back when Subeta was just being started. He posted at a few mid-core forums with me. I know a lot of things about the kid, you wouldnt even imagine. But I wouldn't go into detail.

Actually every now and then a user can buy some ad space, it appears at the very bottem. It disappears and reappears periodically.

Keith tried out ads for a bit about... six months or so ago, and there was.. a major uproar. I think Subeta's doing okay without ads, frankly. I NEVER want it to become like Mara, up to six ads a page @_@

I will likely think that most users use mozilla firefox and they do this great addon which blocks ads which to me is WOW. So if he put an ad or two it will be good. He will have more money to use.

He probably doesn't need ads because his donation items are like $30 each.

8D I like the fact Subeta has no adds. I actually love it, since I often have to run a lot of big programs at once, while going on the Internet XD Although is there no pleasing at all? If there were adds, you'd complain there's adds, and now that there's none, people complain that the cash shop items are high XD Servers cost a bunch, and the staff has to be paid.
Adds slow the loading of a page since most are animated. Unless you'd like to see the big empty space to your right filled up with adds, I also wonder where they'd be. I know I'd loathe having 6748932 blinking banners for the sake of keeping the site running. x:

Didn't there used to be one in that white box down near the bottom?

From what I remember, there was one. I dunno if it's still there anymore since I haven't been on the site in over a year.

I thought they used to put an add at the very bottom of the page if someone paid them for it... it wasn't like google adds or something (I think... been a while for me too xD )
