View Full Version : Hoyle Games
Does anyone play the Hoyle games?
I just love them. Word is my favorite because I love the puzzles.
I have Word, Board, and Card Hoyle games.
What are the games about? What's the main thing that Hoyle Games design and such?
Well, the card games have alot of card games: Spades, hearts, solitaire (in a lot of variations), poker and more
The word games have double cross, hangman, wordox, crossword puzzles and more
The board games have mahjong, rummy squares, pachisi, yacht, dominoes, backgammon, chess and more.
There's something for everyone. It's built with a facemaker so you can customize yourself. There is a website so you can play them online if you want to.
So, what kind of software is it? Is it for the computer and such?
Yes. It's a CD game. To play it online tho, the link on the CD doesn't work, so you'd have to google Hoyle games.
How much does it cost? Is it worth it?
Each one cost me about 10 dollars at Walmart. They are way worth it.
Oh, so it doesn't come with one cd with all the games?
Nope. I like it better that it doesn't. If it did, then alot of the games that I don't play would be on there.
They also have games for kids, and different ones for the adults too.
Oh, but if it was like that they'd probably have the games sorted in sections. So basically Hoyle Games is the manufacter of many games? From all the games categories that you've stated and more?
That's right. They're really fun, and I love the fact that you can create your own avatar to play with. It's kind of unique in that sense.
Is there other users to chat with as well? Is it like Pogo or no?
There are alot of people on all the games they offer online. So it's like Pogo yes.
Oh, that's good to hear. Which would you say is better Hoyle Games or Pogo?
Hmmm..that would be a hard one cause pogo offers alot of games. So does Hoyle, but all their games are free.
I like them both lol, so to be honest I'd have to say Pogo, if you pay. The reason being is I love Canasta, so I pay to play that.
If you like free, then Hoyle is the best.
What kind of a game is Canasta? What's it like?
It's a card game. You can have 2 players or several. It's really fun.
Have you been beaten on it? It's a great game huh? You can play by yourself as well, right?
Yup I get beaten on Canasta alot. I'm not that great in it as opposed to a game like spades, where I can pretty much kick all kinds of booty.
No, it's kinda hard to play by yourself, unless you wanna deal yourself 2 hands. One for you and one for your imaginary op.
So, you can't practice and so? So, the only way you'll be able to practice is by player other people?
Well, I don't really have anybody here at the house to practice with. Ralph is working...so that leaves me alone. Yup I practice online. I play with a girlfriend, so that's always great. We've arranged times to play the game.
Did you beat her? :) I haven't played games in a long time, it's been hard.
Heck naw, she kicks my a$$ lol. She's been playing for at least 40 years. She's an older lady of about ummm late 60's I'd imagine. She lives here in Oz where I am. She's a very good player and is constantly telling me "OMG I can't believe you played that Fly!" ~snicker~
I haven't played for about 20 years until just recently, so I'm still trying to get into the swing of it again.
I love to play games...online or off. Offline I play alot of the Sims2, Diablo II the expansion, word games, and Zoo Tycoon, and Sim City.
Oh, so you two have met before and played each other in person as well? I've never heard about Hoyle Games before, so it's quite new to me. I'll have to try its games someday.
Ya, I don't even play games offline anymore unless its Madden or something.
Have you ever asked her to teach you some things?
Yea, she's a close friend in real life.
http://hoylegames.sierra.com/index.jsp is the link to the online games of Hoyle. To be able to do the unique facemaker, you'd have to get a CD. You can gettem at Walmart.
LOL Yes I've asked her, she keeps telling me, Lori, you'll remember, just keep on playin.
