Just thought I'd post this here - as it was posted by Enderbsd on the forums:
I wanted to show off / describe the pet stats in the new rewrite because i do not think many people have seen it or understand it. That could be because it is pretty ugly now tho http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif
Some of you might of seen on your pets the following table:
Pet Clr Total
Health: 10 0 10
Strength: 1 0 1
Defense: 10 0 10
Intel: 0 0 0
Clr should be changed to Color, but we will clean this up and make it even nicer. The point how it works, and thats done. How it works is this.
In the old site all pets started with the same stats. In the new site all pet _RACES_ Have base stats that are different. For example a Dragon probably has more Strength than a Ruffie. This really only effects your stats the day you adopt it, sense you are free to train a ruffie to be as strong as you want (with lots of training).
The next thing is Colors. Every single pet color has a _MODIFIER_ for your stats. For example i would expect nuclear pets to have a negative strenght modifier but a positive say intellengence modifier.
So a quick example. Lets say you adopt a Common Dragon with the following stats:
Strength: 16
Defense: 11
Max Health: 9
Intelligence: 8
Lets say you train it to have 100 Defense so its new stats are like so
Strength: 16
Defense: 100
Max Health: 9
Intelligence: 8
Lets say "Golden" Color pets get a huge boost to defense. Say its 20% . If you used a potion and turned your Common Dragon into a Golden Dragon its new stats would be:
Strength: 16
Defense: 120
Max Health: 9
Intelligence: 8
Now lets say you do not like golden anymore, so instead you want to turn your Dragon into a Arid color. Lets say Arids get a NEGATIVE modifer to defense say -15%, but lets say they get a bonus to Strength and Intelligence, say 50% ! Your new stats would then be:
Strength: 24 (16 + 8 = 12)
Defense: 85 (100 - 15 = 85)
Max Health: 9
Intelligence: 12 (8 + 4 = 12)
So, expect in the near future to see More stats on pets, and expect them to play a larger role in games your pets can play. For example maybe a Luck stat? And pets with a higher luck stat get a boost in playing games like Random? Things like that
