Mr. Tiki is a relatively new petsite, with the following description:

You've managed to stumble on a place known as Tiki Island. This mystical forgotten land is crawling with Deities, Demi-Gods, Poisonous Arachnidites, Smigmies... and more adventure than anyone knows what to do with. As it stands, there is a clear divergence of good and evil that could use your assistance. The sinister Mr. Woo has struck up a deal with greed and is in the process of turning this peaceful island into a bustling tourist trap. If he succeeds, this cash cow will make millionaires out of anybody with a keen mind. Oh the horror! So what will it be? Will you help the peaceful denizens of Tiki Village? Or rule with an iron fist in Wootropolis?

Art: 10/10
The art on the site is simply amazing, really. There is little that could improve about it.

Pets/Pet Interaction: 5/10
The amount of items and their abilities at this time is relatively weak. There are not enough pets at this time, and what pets their are do have good looks. The way you teat your pets has little to do with anything on the site at the moment, something that needs to be fixed. The system that users interact with the pets is good, but could be improved.

Interface: 9/10
The interface on the site is superb. Clean, fast, and easy. My only complaint is that some parts of the site need more stylization.

Community: 7/10
Everyone on the site is nice, and their presence make the experience amazing. The forums/e-mail/friends systems simply do not have the nearly the feature set needed for a good experience. If more features were present, community would go away with a 10! (Guilds would help too!)

Features: 4/10
As of now, the amount of features on the site is staggeringly low, but more than some sites. And what they have is pretty unique. Some major things, like user shops, are missing. If these are added, the Mr. Tiki experience would be much better.

Games: 8/10
The quality of this site's games rivals Neopets. They simply need more.

Plot: 10/10
Mr. Tiki has SUPERB weekly stories that are simply amazing. Really, read them.

Economy: 4/10
The stocks system on the site is both unique and suberb. They have an average bank system, and run-of-the-mill shops. As of now, less than 100 items exist. they need more. Users shops and a trading post are a must, and they don't have them.

Overall: 7/10
Mr. tiki is a great site that I highly recommend. with time, missing features will come, and the site's rating will greatly improve. But really, try it. it is only in Beta, and you will be amazed at how fast it grows.

I am with you 100% on this one. There are no quirky features, and the game as a whole flows VERY smoothly. The art is phnominal, and the storyline is awesome and timely. Everything on the site is great, and works great. However, the only downfall I can see is the lack of features and material. Since I joined (which has been some time now. I can't give specifics, but probably 2 months at a minimum) there have been virtually no updates, besides 3 new games and a couple of new coconuts. But, I am sure that if you do stick with it, you will be in for one heck of a nice pet site. :)

Once the battle system comes, shops and guilds will be soon to follow. They already have some work done on them. I also know at least one new world is in the works.

Features will come, and when they do, this site will ROCK!

Excellent review! I agree; for a beta run they have a lot of nice features and I'm sure there will be more to come.

Mr Tiki is by far in my opinion the most interesting pet site, bar none. My only gripe is that sometimes a lot of activation e-mails don't go through, I know that mac.com and comcast.net. It mat ot be important now, but not everyone has gmail or hotmail (in fact, I don't know why anyone would WANT hotmail) but it may cause problems as time goes on and more users join. Also, the game "The WooPrentice" accepts a lot of words-that-aren't-words, and doesn't accept a lot of very common words, such as "wet"
As you can see the only flaws I can find are due to the fact that it is in Beta Testing, and after that I can guaruntee it will be awesome. The art style isn't some crappy anime that every other site has...it's ORIGINAL. The games are fun and even thogh Wooprentice has its problems it's becoming one of my favorites. It's not too easy nor too difficult. The stories are great, and the battle system seems promising. The games are fun, and provide something for everyone. The items are original..finally a site without "PLUSHIES" I can't stand how many sites have a plushie for every pet and every color! Besides, I've never said plushie, I also say "stuffed animal" I get so sick of that commonality! :P
The community is very nice. They are also willing to help and seem like a close-knit bunch. It reminds me of cheers sometimes, "where everybody knows your name."I especially like how all the user pages are standard, and simple. I personally hate custom user pages like on mistic pets and neopets. :P
Also, the pets.."spirits" are awesome. Each one is available in only one color but I think that is a good thing. Other pet sites like subeta and neopets practically rely on (or at least a major goal of them is) collecting potions/paintbrushes to change your spirit. Also, your spirit doesn't need a unique name, so you don't get dumb names like XxNoriko.YeanexX or butterflysalamangler2007. Just little things that set it apart, more commonalities of pet sites not shared by Herr Tiki.
Soon the site will be opening up it's Foggy Coast area, which should be promising, as you need a newly released item to get there.

If you took the time read through that "stream of consciousness" you might as well make a mrtiki account today!

I agree, but I think spirits need some variation. People have suggested body paint!
Oh, and one customizable page is good, but you are right, people's Neopets lookups are murder!

Body paint, that's a good idea. As long it's cheap enough for everyone, even newer players.
