Hey everyone, I own a website called Suta-Raito and it's had lack of updating for quite a while just because I've been too stubborn to update it without making new layouts and adding programming. Unfortunately I don't know how to program, and I'm in need of serious help here.
If programming is in place, I can figure out what most things do and get around myself, but I'd really like to have a programmer by my side to get me out of trouble when I eventually mess up something. =}
Suta-Raito is an image resource website I started about 6 years ago to provide Pokemon pictures for other websites to use. I now offer a variety of anime images and Neopet images as well, and the Oekakis are quite popular for other artists. In the future I hope to have more information-based pages so the site can be an information source as well, and a detailed Tutorial section made with flash that I've already started.
It's a non-profit website and I own the server it's on, so I pay $200 each month to keep it up. I've started making money from google ads recently and that brings in $100 of the bill each month, but I'm hoping to bring in the rest by reviving Suta-Raito with coding.
I've always been stubborn about getting help with my website, but recently with college and my work I've realized that I can't do everything by myself and need help. I don't want to abandon my website, but if I can get it advanced enough to keep visitors and pay the bill by itself, I can continue to offer free graphics and tutorials for upcoming artists, along with keeping all the oekaki boards online too.
I'll work with anyone that's willing to work with me, and I'll give you full respect of course. =} I've been working in the petsite business for years so I know how it feels when people just don't care. I'd like to have a programmer, or even a group of people working with me as a team.
Right now my msn isn't working, but I prefer contacting via aim at the moment anyway. I check my e-mail frequently as well if aim isn't possible.
I now have a coder for details in red. If something comes up, I'll be asking for more help. =}
--------
Must Haves!
--------
* A register/login/logout system with simple user pages that allow people to use basic html to add their pictures and text.
* An admin system so I can add staff members to update the News and certain pages (like the Neopets game hints, stuff like that)
* A curse word filter is a MUST. My site is for people of all ages but I get a lot of young viewers and I want to keep them. -Done!
* A news page that allows people to comment on updates.
--------
I'd like to have...
--------
* Forums built into the website, nothing too spectacular really. Just something so members can interact with each other.
* A script that allows users to comment on new images. So this would be me uploading a picture, it being posted as a thumbnail on the images page, then a user clicking it and being brought to another page that allows them to comment and see other comments. I want this so I can have feedback on what to draw next, have users be able to see the date it was updated, and save it easily.
* Collectible avatars, much like petsites have.
* Collectible plushies and items people find randomly around the site. The script can be similar to avatars but only show the plushies in their userpages.
* Similar to Neopets, a caption page script so people see a caption picture, type what they think the characters are saying, then send it in. A random 15 will be chosen (by the script) and users can vote on which they like best.
* A tag board popup that allows a certain number of guests in at a time (say 15) and unlimited users. Also want curse word control and IP banning in this area.
If you're interested in doing one of the scripts above or more, please contact me. I'll have to make sure your coding is adaptable to all the people working with me.
Also, I need some secure coding. Suta-Raito most certainly isn't a dead site and I get a few people once in a while who think it's funny to mess around with things. D=
Suta-Raito isn't a petsite.
I want it to be an interactive website though. I get tons of e-mails from young artists asking me to keep drawing/updating, and I want to give them someplace to talk to other artists, swap pictures, learn new methods of drawing, and simply have fun.
* Money payments can only be made via paypal and I'd like to have an estimate before making any deals. I'm a college student so I'm broke of course, but I make money online working for petsites and other commissions and I'll always be able to pay before I commission any scripts.
* If any petsite is interested in swapping programming for pet images, I'll offer my services there as well. Here are some examples of my past works:

I don't know how much all of this will end up costing, but I put my heart into my website for years and I'll find a way to make everything work.
