Hello, I go by the alias Daz. I am currently in the process of creating a VPS/RPG (virtual pet site/Role Playing Game) with several dedicated staff, however, the time has come to begin looking for some more skilled artists and writers, as currently we simply do not have the resources to meet our output quota. Please apply directly to my AIM screen name Dazitov.

Artists

Requirements:

Cell shading
Thin black lineart
Detailed Semi realistic art

Examples:

http://daxitove.com/images/item_crit.png
Copyright Daxitove.com (2007)

http://daxitove.com/images/item_food.png

Items are 70x70, 24bit PNG files with an alpha channel.

Please give at least three examples, that you might have from the past, and at least two fresh examples using our format (we will not use any example images without explicit permission from the author.)

Artist jobs will be exclusively items until they prove that they are both reliable enough, and able to draw pets (200x200PNG files)

Writers

Requirements:
Must be skilled at writing, especially realistic fantasy and fantasy writing. Three or more spelling errors or three or more severe grammar errors = application rejection (so spell check, and read it out-loud before you submit your application.)

Staff writers will be expected to write everything from plots, to design areas of the site (as in come up with site area names and similar concepts)

Thank you for your time. If you have any questions, please ask me on Dazitov (AIM) if its personal, otherwise, please ask on this board so other users may benefit from the answers.

Additional information:
Site is Daxitove.com, currently under development, we need some more art to be able to complete the site :)

Advantages of working on Daxitove.com ->

If I may ask....how will the site be different from other pet sites out there?

A lot make this claim, but when it comes right down too it....they are not.

The site has some tough months ahead of it, but, essentially it differs in that its more like an RPG than a standard pet site, and its being written by pro's ;)

When we get closer to opening I'll post more, there are a lot of trade secrets I can't give out this early in the game, but due to the mass of content the site design requires, I need to hire staff much earlier than a normal pet site would (normally they would wait until they are closer to opening, but we need SO MUCH content right now that staff are needed immediately.) I assure you that when we get closer, we will have teasers, beta testing, and other much more fun stuff (since teasers aren't really fun, neither is beta testing...)

Of course, staff get exclusive rights to learn of some of our unique features.

------------------------------

However, on that note, I am going to agree with you, I have an enormous amount of experience as staff on pet sites, and I know for a fact that 90% fail due to either poor/underdeveloped/lack of unique .. content. I remember one site, simupets.com, was all the hype, now their domain directs to a place holder page with ads. Its the grim future of most pet sites, and I strive to be different (it helps that I am a young adult and can afford to finance the site)

It's great to hear that at least you'll be opening with a lot of stuff. That is a big plus.

I've found quite a few that have ads where their petsites used to be. I have a thread about this, to try to find out what happened and where/how the site failed. I figured this would be able to help others if we could find out why.

I wish you all the best of luck. Keep everyone posted on your progress. There are not enough "unique" sites out there.

The 'uniqueness' will come from both my unusual, twisted mind, and the fact that users and staff can actively participate in idea generation for the future site. While I don't use a large portion of user suggestions (either only a few people would actually use it, or its completely impractical,) a small portion of generated ideas are really amazing, and go a long way towards complimenting the already unique site. I have a lot of secret plans for Daxitove *rubs hands together and laughs maniacally* heheheheheh

Would you be willing to give me some more information on what you're looking for in writers? And on that note, are you still accepting?

I am a good writer, I can also moderate, administrate, organize a site, etc. I'm on your forums applying for writer and Site Planner now. :D

I'm very interested in applying for a position as a writer. I will be sending you an IM the next time that I see you're not idle or away.

Do you need any written work from us? For example, would you need a story of ours?

I would like to see one, and I usually show up as Idle, you can IM me anyways, today I'll be on fairly late, yesterday I'd not have been on until midnight.

Im still accepting, and what I am looking for is the ability to write creatively, meet deadlines, work in a fast paced, competitive environment whilst being able to present dynamic and exciting new ideas and furthering the future of daxitove.com.
