What would you change if you owned Marapets?

Marapets is running pretty good and has accomplished a lot over the past years, so I don't think I'd change anything -- I'd probably add a few more referral prizes or something and hire a few more administrators to help me out around the game if I went on vacation or something, but other than that I wouldn't change anything that much.

How about you? What would you change if you owned Marapets?

I'm looking at both sides because figure this what if you really did own Marapets? You'd have to look at the website in both ways in order to make it work.. Like Marapets was competiting with Powerpets before, but they already beat them... Marapets is in its own league now, no competition except for Neopets.

How much do you think you would be able to sell Marapets for? I don't believe in selling a website unless you absolutely don't have to care for it nomore... But since we got this thread going a bit it got me thinking if I was the owner of Marapets I'd probably start launching commerical advertisements on TV so I can reach a higher audience and go from there.

Please...I would bet anything that marapets has a very big bank account. With all those "server" funds they always ask for, and seem to get, they must have tons of money. And with like 5 different CPM companies paying per thousand impressions, probably millions of impressions each day they must be making a killing. Not to mention all the tricked clicks they get from google ads.

As I understand it, Google pulls ads in a heartbeat if they think people are clicking on them a bunch just to give the site owner click-throughs. (Happened to somebody I semi-know, after he tried to warn people not to do it.) I'm not sure if that's quite what you're talking about, though.

If people are purposely clicking ads multiple times to make the person money then yes, they will ban you. But in marapets case its not so. They have well blended ads in places that users could accidentally click. It should be bringing in a bundle.

Marapets has a "premium" adsense account which means they have their own account manager that manages their adsense account - and they have more privileges than regular adsense members do.

You're correct. Google pulls advertisements off a website as soon as they see that.

Oh, gotcha. Blech. The thing I like about Google ads as I usually see them is that they're clearly ads without (the text ones, at least) being too much of a nuisance.

I would get rid of the ads myself, by replacing them with donation items, credits and monthly donation presents that people can buy. I would also change how you could get a graveyard pet by either having a zombie randomly bite your pet. Or maybe have the user do a quest for a witch, where you have to collect ingredients to create a potion to feed to your pet.

I wouldn't change too much on Marapets if I were the owner. It's a $10-$15 million dollar company. They need to add more stuff I think though.
