The site is turning into a lame joke.

Really, Ian is making nothing improved. Remeber a few weeks ago, in the news he said they had something new to fix the site, it should improve, awsome events and items will happen..blah. blah.blah. What a suprise so far besides the egg hunt happening, marapets is still the same since he 'improved it' People who have been playing for years are quitting, people are spamming and getting away with things like auto-buyers, that were supposed to be filtered out.*cough* that sure happened *cough* Lately the pet forum is being swamped with "Giving Away, and Quitting" boards. The pet forum is turning pathetic, with people saying "I cannot get a pet I want, soI am quitting!" REALLY, for pete's sake people it is a virtual pet site, not the place that can solve your problems, and be perfect. Things have really been turning around lately. Also, I find It VERY annoying we cannot talk about other sites on marapets. It is like the center of the world is marapets, and they want no other sites as good as them, and even better, to exist. People and staff say it filters out the sites , because "They may not be appropriate sites!" I say it is so that other people don't know about other great sites and leave marapets.

I am kind of dissapointed in Ian, he has failed. Maybe he has not failed being a succesful buisness person with all the ads, but he has failed in his responsibility to being active and kind to the members. I cannot recall the last time he ever posted elsewhere except in the adult forum. He always used to be happy and excited about updates and new members! but now, he is just greedy for money.

so true lexie..and to be honest its not just Ian that has began to neglect things..most of the admins (blue stars) are rude..have you ever read some of their profile blogs? they basically tell you not to bother them at all..if there not there to help you, then why are they staff?..lol..everytime something glitches on the site and someone makes a post about, people from the adult forums come on and say that Ian is away on vacation? wtf is with that? now i can understand ones need to get away sometimes, but seems to me he's on vacation a whole heck of a lot lately..he needs to just turn the site over to someone who cares, and will run the site the way it should be ran or he should just close the site down..

I just happened in... but, On Neopets, you cannot talk about any other site, product, religiion, etc. You can be frozen, and they inforce it. So, I guess it can be pretty common. I referred someone on neomail to some sort of business, and I got an official warning from TNT for it.

I have had great response from them(Marapets)and the mods lately. So, I cannot complain. They went out of their way to put my account back together after being hacked. Neopets won't do that. You get hacked and lose everything, they can reinstate you, but won't give you back anything stolen. You just get the empty shell left after the hacker got done.

I agree, but I never said I blame the mods. I feel they do more to maintain the site, and care about it way more than Ian. Most all of the staff members have been staying on marapets for longer time periods than Ian.

i love marapets i think the problem is that there are to many grasses on maras and not enough series game playing also marapets needs to tell people when there site is going down,and they need more people to`answer series emails,

Personally, I could care less about new content if they would fix the servers. I could deal with Marapets the way it is, if the site actually worked more than 50 % of the time. I have been playing mara for a long time and have bought several AUs, follow the rules and all I ask is for the site to consistently work. No site is perfect, there will be errors sometimes. Errors now and then I can deal with, but the extent of glitches and errors lately is appalling. Just look at the amount of members that come on daily. With the amount of active members declining that fast, you would think Ian would be trying harder to make the site run smoothly. The least he could do is type a quick note in the news apologizing for sever errors and pretend to care.

Also, when I would see other experienced members quitting a few months ago, I couldn't understand why. Many, many people with millions upon millions of marapoints worth of pets, just giving away all their LEs and leaving. It just didn't make any sense. I give away LEs now and then, but could never part with all my LEs. I never imagined it would get to the point I was considering doing the same thing. If the server errors do not let up soon, or Ian can not bother updating us on the errors and glitches, I'm cashing in my chips.

If we all quit playing - even for a week, maybe Ian would pay attention. I highly doubt everyone in Mara would boycott the site in protest, but if we did perhaps he would at least throw us a bone in the form of a news update once in a while.

that is my prediction.. but then again i can't predict the future...
no one would band together on this one...

I put up with all it's site crashes and glitches because I know it's not the end of the world if I don't get to sit on the internet for three hours and play in a virtual world..

To a certain extent I see how running the site could go both ways. Yes, he could be more productive and communicate more with the members, but that would be very hard for him to do. Marapets IS a big site, so there are a lot of things for him to tend to. But also, we pay for him to run his site, the least he could do is fix the errors and be nice. The staff are getting quite rude lately, and indygo does not even bother to reply to my mails. Marapets is changing, and I see that in many ways. Including the plummeting numbers of active members, glitches, errors, news, ect... Even If we did a boycott, I think Ian would be kind of happy. Think about it this way, he created the site for HIM AND LAIMAY. Now, a bunch of annoying members come and attack marapets. He decides to Make AUs for money. By now, he has probably made a decent amount of money, and wants nothing more to do with the site. That is, besides clean all our hard-earned money out!
