I agree. It's a job. You wouldn't do that about your regular working job would you? No. Yes, you have to get along but you don't have to be 'friends'. Of course you can't hate each other either because that would be just as bad. And of course a owner has to take responsibility. How many times does a big owner of a large petsite goes 'Crud...I messed up...' I doubt very much. A owner in my opinion has less power than the artists/programers/writers because the artists/programers/writers are the real hard workers of the site, and you have a hard time finding ones that will work for you. You should never bad mouth someone, and maybe take a look at your own faults before you judge someone else. Of course, the thing is you have to have a friendly attitude towards the 'customer' even if you don't get along with your co-workers. ....my half rant is over...>< still tired...sorry

I thoroughly appreciate this post. c: Thank you, Ixy.
Finally someone who gets it.
a++ read~ I agree with this so much; being professional means handling your issues privately and not airing that stuff.

THANK YOU! Haha, another one that REALLY irks me for graphic design, but I'm sure applies to general art services as well, is "make it flashy, make it pop!" Recently had a real-life nightmare client (no one from online or on VPL) who dragged out the process for way too long.
Oh, thank you for this... I hope people read this post. Also, I'd like to add to try to be as specific as possible - in terms of graphic design / layouts at least. "Some sort of layout that's blue" and "just do what you think looks good!" is a slight gripe of mine, aha. What ends up happening is that I do an infinite amount of revisions because there isn't a set description or reference provided -- what I see may be different from my client. It's hard to agree on a design or scheme that way, which means the entire design process can dragged on for far too long. I recommend people who are interested in purchasing or commissioning layouts (can apply for digital art, I'm sure) to do a quick browse on the internet and research what sort of designs / elements that stand out to them that they like. : ) I have to say, the clients I've had on VPL are much nicer and less rude than those I have worked with in real life. =)
Can I just. Yes.
XD It's funny you say "more is better" because I once sent a full novel on what I wanted (very specific) and I was yelled at for giving too much XD Good to know though :L
