How do I grow my pet game?

Pet games usually grow from word of mouth. You supply a quality product, then people follow in your path – and refer their friends. Like, if you like something, then your friends must like the same thing you do – its about being friendly. If you do not have a quality product, then don’t expect people to follow you.

Like Palawind is owned by Ichumon’s creators so they know what to do with a pet game, but wait.. That doesn’t mean it’ll succeed, right? Well, right, but then again, Ichumon is a proven success and continues to grow – which means their new game is going to spread like rapid fire – because their games do not suck.

How would you grow your pet game?
I’d enlist my pet game on all the voting sites, and allow my users to receive in-game points on big-named pet games – such as, using incentivizing voting. I’d also go to pet forums and ask them what do they think about my pet game. We’d also focus a lot on our quality product – such as, updating the news with new items, new pets, and new features. If you don’t have the features and things to do – then nobody will care about your pet game.

But if you provide quality, then a lot of people will care about your game. It’s all about content. Art comes second, but if you have both, then its even better – and even greater success. So take one look at Subeta and Marapets – see how they continue to have players? They provide uniqueness, the same for Powerpets and the same for Rescreatu – they both have quality game features that keep people playing for hours on end.

Subeta is just like Gaia online – so it keeps people coming back because of its human avatars. Marapets is like Neopets[copycat features] so they attract their users. Read more about marapets via our marapets fans speak up thread.

So, the moral of this post is – if you build it, they will come. Just work hard and strive to be the best, and you’ll see how fast your pet game will grow.

Twitter marketing explained

Twitter is an online community, which means, you have to write quality content in order for people to follow you.
Followers = people who care about what you have to say
You’re following = people you want to care about and read more about.

We know Twitter and we know our marketing approach, so for those pet site owners struggling on Twitter – be sure to allow your members to discuss the pet game freely. Even run a twitter contest could make your pet site blow up.

Our approach is simple. Content is useful so we follow those we find interesting and people follow us if they’re interested in what you have to say. Such as, @cpvr knows seo so he’d discuss SEO with other seo fans.

Pet games = web games, which means, you target those in games, pets, and fun. Also, targeting the Neopets users is also easy, but they really don’t care on what’s being said.

Example of a Twitter-ran contest:
Hello, I own @virtualpetlist let’s discuss pets.
@cpvr good idea let’s talk.
@virtualpetlist says we love virtual pets!
@cpvr says VPL is your answer for virtual pets!

It’s just a way of life and if you know how to market, then you’ll do just fine on Twitter.

So, Verpets get your members talking the right way and move up the ladder on Twitter?
