Virtualpetlist moves away from being just a listing site

As Virtual pet list has continued to grow over the years, our focus has always been the same – providing content to our audience, which means, our blog will now host the listing of our virtual pet sites and our community virtual pet sites is where the information on our pet games will be stored.

We moved away from being just a listing sites over 3 years ago when we just focused on our community, so this is nothin new.

New dedicated server for Virtualpetlist.com

We felt that we couldn’t expand our horizons without getting a dedicated server. Our good friend, Patrick warner from Rescreatu but we decided it was indeed time to move up and get our own dedicated server…

So, what do you know about running a server? Nothin, so we went to a managed server company.

How virtualpetlist.com will succeed

We here at Virtual pet list understand community and what works and what doesn’t, so our main focus is providing our community with enough content that keeps them chatting – while we focus on promotion and marketing – plus SEO, which means, we’re busy, but we won’t stop chatting to our members.

So, what do you think? Does VPL still has a chance in the online world, or are we screwed to no point of return? You decide, not us.

We also have history on our side.
See subeta being raided longcat.
And also we know our grounds for research, see:

We don’t try to hurt anyone, we just provide content for our audience.

How Virtual pet list will earn its respect back

Our owner, cpvr, recently went on a nut spree and attacked the following websites: Lurapets, Subeta, virtual pet community and Verpets, but one thing is for certain, we do not give up on a battle that seems so high to climb. Quality content got us to where we are today, and sure, we are listening to VPC’s members, as seen here and we’ll post what Connor Oliver had to say about us, same with Tezeti – who are huge fans of our niche[virtual pets and neopets]:

The virtual pet community

The past month has brought out the best and the worst in those in and around the virtual pet communities, but mostly the worst.

About a month ago now VPL was allegedly “hacked” and went offline for a brief period, the VPL team lost all of the back-ups and a week or so later, reopened fresh with no members or posts at all.

Over the next little while they quickly gained members and active ones at that and then the main leader Carlos (cpvr) went on a rampage for a few days and proceeded to blame this on a medical condition.

Carlos went offline to allegedly get help with his illness so that he could come back and lead VPL as the strong leader he has proven himself to be.

During his rampage he attacked anyone who said or did anything that he perceived to be a direct action against him, trying to tear these people down and tarnish the image of them.

He went and attacked all the competitor communities, simply for that; They were competitors.

Some of the key phrases during this saga of events was his infamous “Content is king”, however during this time he was failing to make any quality content. This rampage brought out the worst in him, a side of him rarely seen in the virtual pet “industry”.

During this time he hurt his community, VPL, and the members of it. Some of the members we’re quick to forgive and forget, but not many.

Once he left for alleged “help”, EBK was put in charge of VPL, during this time things started to go back to normal and the issues started to be resolved, as EBK worked on putting this behind the community.

A week or so later Carlos returned and started posting and blogging and for a short period look like he had returned to normal, but once again he started attacking people and trying to tarnish the image of others.

He’s been using his blog and the competitor site Virtual Pet Community as his personal soapbox, fine for the blog but not VpC. By using VpC as a soapbox he could speak his mind where the members of his community wouldn’t see and he could try to deter members away from VpC and direct them to his community.

We’ve seen the worst in Carlos, but what about other people in the communities?

Other people have been very immature about the situation resorting to childish name calling a tactics like spamming. These “Other People” are the ones responsible for the bulk of the drama related to the events.

Sure they can say what they wish, but does posting about it 10000 times change anything? No, It makes a bad situation worse. These people gave Carlos power to continue his actions, had the members largely ignored him things may have been different.

The moral we all need to take from this, is that while Carlos did bad things and should take responsibility, we all had our part in crating the current situation, none of you didn’t help advance this to what it is and will be.

I write this on behalf of the users at VPL and VpC, to get a better insight into this situation and see whats been happening. I like it very much if this topic didn’t go to hell like so many others, because I see this as a non-biased topic or at the very least, less biased then most of the other topics made by people.

I’ve tried to present what I’ve seen in this situation, so you may not agree; This is simply my view on it all.

I’m sorry if you’ve been ofended.

Fact is, we were hacked by Zander, but we won’t deal with him anymore, right? History is in the past.

And this is what Tezeti had to say about us. Great post!

After contemplating on this issue, I’ve realized a few truths. The first is that cpvr is not going to stop trying to create drama. He will try to gorge his community with it by any means necessary, as he believes it is the only key to renewal. The second is that ignoring him, hard as it may seem, might be best for the community as a whole (unless something truly outrageous occurs). If he wants to crown himself “King Content”, let him and we can see how it turns out. This also has the added benefit of leaving him as directly responsible for his actions, as he will no longer have any viable way to wrongly blame this on the users or on VPC.

You’re right. Cpvr has to earn his respect back and earn the hearts of thousands again. He is truely sorry, but the only way he shows his loyalty is via content. What do you guys think? Are we lost at words or do you finally forgive cpvr? It wasn’t his fault that his condition made everyone scared, but now he’s scared that virtual pet list has been damaged for life.

On a side note Icepets has some sneak peaks to share.

What is the community?

The community is those that come together to discuss their favorite game genre, virtual pet games. We were the first and we understand the concept of community, which means, we’re building one with virtual pet list even though our foundation was shook, we can easily back up and go back to square 1.

Cpvr was made a member yesterday and saw what VPL was lacking and it was quality content that actually kept people talking.
Now let’s go back to wikipedia’s definition of “community

In biological terms, a community is a group of interacting organisms sharing an environment. In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness.

In sociology, the concept of community has caused infinite debate, and sociologists are yet to reach agreement on a definition of the term. There were ninety-four discrete definitions of the term by the mid-1950s. Traditionally a “community” has been defined as a group of interacting people living in a common location. The word is often used to refer to a group that is organized around common values and social cohesion within a shared geographical location, generally in social units larger than a household. The word can also refer to the national community or global community.

Virtual pet list is more than just a list, it grew from its foundation and became a community.

The sale of Virtualpetforums.com

We received mix reactions when we put “virtual pet forums on the market. Problem is, we do not need it anymore. Fact is, we hope people see the true potential of being related to VPL and its leadership strength.

Domain can be used for anything. Blog? Website? It’s all your own idea.

Virtualpetlist vs Virtualpetcommunity.com

Looks like our kind friends on over virtual pet community didn’t like our proposed affiliate idea. You link us, we link back, so the competition is on. Remember virtual pet forums when it hit a snag and bought them out? No need for a merger here, we’ll prove to the community that we’re still awake even though our foundation was knocked down..

But, when you’re a leader, you come back regardless that is said. So, why don’t we display the stats?

This could be interesting. Can a small site beat down the leader and take control of the community? No, its all about leadership and knowing how things run.’

We’re webmasters which means, we have access to nice charts and the like. We hate competition, so we won’t allow discussion of any competitors. Rules are rules and this is the internet.

Sorry guys, tricks are for kids, not adults.

Virtualpetlist and Virtualpetcommunity.

We are aware of everyone’s concerns and we believe a partnership with the virtual pet community is what everyone wants. So, what can the details be? What do you guys want from us as a community? Strong leaders do not give up and VPC has a strong leader with Kael, so why don’t we partner up – and together, we can bring more people to the community aspect of our games.

Our request:
Link to each other on the footer and go from there. An alliance is key to one’s success and we feel that we are not powerful without VPC.
