I figured because I have decided on a release date, November 1st, 2011, it was high time to announce my grand master plans on VPL. You all are some of the first to hear this stuff, and I hope you enjoy what's to come.

First off, what is Calypso's Gardens exactly?
Calypso's Gardens (abbreviated CG) is a social networking site for authors, literary enthisiasts, and (hopefully!) publishers. If you have a passion for the literary arts, this will be the perfect site for you.

You can see our layout here. As you can see, it is roughly a garden theme, which pulls into the tagline Cultivate the garden of your mind.

I am hoping to attract a new generation of writers to my project. At the risk of sounding cliched, I believe that everyone has greatness within them, they just need something to help them unleash it. I hope that for some, Calypso's Gardens can be the catalyst for success.

If anyone is interested in helping with this project or has any feedback, my MSN and email address is LPitt10@gmail.com. I welcome all constructive messages, and I will do my best to reply to all of them.

On that note, if anyone is a high school or university student and they're interested in helping me promote Calypso's Gardens at their school (preferably in the English/Literature departments), PLEASE message me! I would love your help!

Is this a pet site or somehow akin to having pets in some way?
I'm not sure what you mean by social networking for writers. Is it like a place to post blogs or writing novels / stories online? I'm not sure what a person would do on a site like that so maybe you could give us some more info.

This sounds really neat! I can't wait until it opens. I will definetely use it to post my stories and share them with others. Will it be simliar to Facebook?

@Ardy - No, this isn't related to petsites in any way, I just thought it might be nice to post it here and give you guys the first look.

@whisperingspirit - Thank you!

I probably should have included this in the main post, lol, but think Facebook + Tumblr + Deviantart, hopefully all rolled into one site, except with more of a focus. By social networking for writers, I mean a place to post your work and gain feedback and online friends who have a similar interest. I will (hopefully) have the "communities" feature included soon, which will include separate communities for different groups of writers (I'm thinking different genres, word lengths, etc.)

Hope that cleared up some things, if there are any more questions let me know

Sounds interesting c: And you'd open just in time for NaNoWriMo You should probably advertise on their forums, you'd get loads of attention, I'm sure.
