Ringworm

Rate this Entry
Is quite honestly the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with.

Started out as a tiny little red circle. No clue where I got it from and then a week later BAM. It's maybe about the size of one of the sides of my headphones (their one of the old crappy versions(JVC), oval like so not exactly a perfect fit but close enough), bunch of blisters and it hurts even when I accidentally scrape it against something soft.

On my left arm too so that's the only good thing. If it was on my right, I think I'd shoot myself. Bad enough I ripped off a chunk of my pinkie on my right hand XD.

Anyone else had to deal with ringworm? It's a very annoying fungal infection. And by very annoying, I mean...VERRRRYYYY ANNOOOYYYIIINNNNG. ONE DAY THEY NEED TO DESTROY THIS.

NO ONE LIKES YOU RINGWORM >8( ! JUST LIKE NO ONE LIKES PAPAYA (anyone get this reference, I'll hug you)

Have you put some foot fungus medicine on it? =(

I have Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate cream for it. At first I only had the Clotrimazole but it made it worse(made it itch soooo bad and the blister got bigger and burst a few times) so they gave me the new stuff which is working after I clean it and then put some rubbing alcohol on it.

It's just so god damn annoying x'D. I have typing class right in the morning so my arm rubs against the desk and it's like '; 3 ;...Curse my floofed up way of typing' and it's hilarious to see how awkward I type now XD.

Okay, I'm going to give you a huge word of advice after having had a bad case of ringworm in our house for several months... If you've had it before and know the ropes then feel free to ignore this but this is just my personal experience.

Clean your house and wash your sheets. The spores can live in the carpet, on the walls, in the dust... clean your house and ALWAYS keep your ringworm COVERED. Many will say to let it breathe but it will just spread everywhere, and then other people can end up getting it if it ends up getting in high enough concentrations. If it is allowed in your bed you can get it anywhere that touches your sheets, if it gets on the couch you can get it that way... I spread it to my shoulder by mistake from constantly scratching my leg when I had it. At least if you are very sensitive to it, it will.... It won't ALWAYS spread for those who aren't sensitive to it but I think it's best to just take precautions and kill it before it can spread.

Also, if that fails, there is another type of... not medication, but substance, that you can put on it that had worked wonders for my family, I just can't remember the name. If you see it coming back or don't think what you have is working I can get you the name, it's not even prescription or anything, you can get it at any vitamin store. It made our ringworm go away very quickly.

Finally, if you have any pets, and they get it severely, SKIP taking them to the vets for treatment and buy a bottle of Lyme Sulfur Dip online. I can refer you to the kind that we used if it gets to that point. You add it to water and run it over their skin while they stand in a big tub. It smells terrible and they will absolutely hate it, and you'll need junk towels to use because it will make EVERYTHING it is washed with smell terrible, but it really, really gets rid of it. We would keep some in a container and use a Q-Tip to apply it to the spots in-between weekly baths and they all got over it quickly after that. Initially we'd been trying other things but it spread so badly that nothing we were using was working. We wasted a few hundred dollars having the vet prescribe crap that never worked. I'm convinced he was milking us for our dough as his new assistant was appalled when she found out he hadn't immediately prescribed the dip.

Anyway, I hope it goes away soon. Ringworm is possibly the worst fungus that I know of and I hate it with an extreme passion B: <

Thanks so much for the advice Drea <3.

I don't think I'm very sensitive to it but today before my gf comes over(She's had it before but did the whole 'not do anything and just wait for it to leave' thing with it and it took 2 years to clear up), everything is getting washed thoroughly, changed and cleaned. For the most part, I keep it covered up all the time unless I'm cleaning (hot water with soap, then peroxide, then alcohol(which hurts insanely bad when putting it on but it's working) and then the cream on it seems to be bringing the swelling down and making some parts fade faster) the thing itself. Then it only stays uncovered for 5 mins to let the alcohol dry.

Been keeping it covered when I'm in school(there was one day where I couldn't which was horrible but I stayed away from everyone and made sure I didn't touch anything, it hurt so bad that even just brushing a sheet over it, after I finally sucked it up and covered it) felt like someone stabbed my arm), at home and pretty much everywhere. I clean the thing 3 times a day and always put on a new dressing or band aid every few hours (before school, after school, after shower/before bed). Not letting this thing touch anything, especially my pets x].

If my method doesn't seem to work by the end of next week, I'll be sure to send a message your way to find out what that is. I'm hoping it should be gone by then if I keep cleaning it and everything. This is my first time dealing with it and it sucks soo much x___x.

Pretty sure I got it from the corrective gym in my school. The wrestling team practices there and everything and my school is never very sanitary. I'm pretty much terrified and loathing going up there along with everyone else.

Ringworm is annoying. Why they no find super fast cure for it D: ?! THIS FUNGUS NEEDS TO DIE.

Ya, a puppy we had a few weeks ago had this. =/ My mom had to dis-infect the whole house because of it. I'm not sure if any of the kids in the house got it or not
