Why didn't Claws say so in his first comment here?
He seems kind of out of the loop, for a site he owns.

Well since I don't know much after all on the situation I won't pretend I do. Like I said in my last comment hope everything clears up soon. IcePets doesn't need anymore negative attention.

Claws is literally just opening a store at the moment. He moved in like.. 2 Days ago. x)
He doesn't have any time at the moment to reply to things. He is very busy until it's all set up unfortunately.

But Claws approved the flats, so it's still on him. And this style matches the other maps, how was she suppose to know that you were switching to cell shaded maps? All she had to go on were the maps that were on the site already. Again this is something that Claws should've told her.

I agree with Martyn. Did the other artist have any solid proof that Ixyra actually said that?

As for the shading style being off, you can see in the message logs that Claws showed her style examples of CURRENT maps to copy. He didn't mention anywhere that you guys were updating everything to cell shading. (Unless I misunderstood, then please correct me.)

I think Claws handled this badly. He was warned about the issues with the artist at the time of the flats. We constantly warned him over and over. He should have canceled and paid for the flats and be done with it. Instead he let it go all the way to completion despite our constant warnings for him to cancel. I was flabbergasted when he posted the finished picture wondering why he let it go to completion and waited then to cancel.

As for the proof the other artist has been a member of that site for a long time and also a long stnading member of this forum since I joined 6 years ago(the original forum). Why should I have any doubts that she who has had a up standing recorded, rarly starting drama, never having done a client wrong.

I also would like to see this proof of me saying that, Lolly. I currently only have 3 official artists on my MSN, one of which is my boss, and one I haven't talked to in months. The last artist on the list here is a very well-respected moderator who also suggested I make this public.
So, knowing these facts, I would very much like to see this evidence.

Okay, here's the thing: You approved the first few stages. You can't just not pay for the parts that you approve along the way. Even if the final one doesn't work out (which, she did offer to fix anything that needed fixing, so you should at least have the decency to give her the chance to,) you need to at least pay for what she did manage to do.

The final result may not have been up to par but you didn't give her a chance to fix it, either. If she tried and couldn't get it right, then fine, don't pay her for her failure to complete it, but pay for the parts that she did do that /were/ approved, then get somebody else to do it, accept the loss, and don't commission her again.

If at the first stage you went "okay, I don't see how that could have taken that long, we need to talk about this" then fine, but you continued on anyway.

You should have nipped it in the bud to begin with, but you didn't.

Really there is nothing she can do if he does not pay her legally. Right now it's a matter of common descendency.

I agree that Claws could have handled it better, he should have at least mentioned cell shading, lol.

I'm also not stupid enough to say who told us. The artist deserves her privacy and doesn't wish to be named. End of story.
If you don't believe me, then that's fine. I really don't care because I have said my part.

We will not pay $60 for the flats, because they're not worth $60. Claws never agreed on $60 for the flats. He accepted the art, but not the price because it doesn't take $60 to create those flats.
That is why I disagree with us paying. Sure $20 for the time, but not $60.

Really there is also no way of proving: She spent 6 hours on it and that she didn't say those things about bragging.

You can make the argument there is not to prove she DID but it still leave no proof she DID NOT. We can sit here and argue she did and she didn't till dawn the facts are all we have to go on is word of mouth and a copy of the PM.

Unless some one on either side can dig up proof all she can do is give claws a bad rating and move on. Your not getting paid and there is really no legal way to make them.

I suggest moving on with your life and selling the map.

I think people need to stop posting here. We all everyone loves to argue but this has gone a bit to far.
