Horrible day..

Before I start, a brief description of an FX. It is a public transportation used in the Philippines, and it looks sort of like a family-sized van. It can carry up to a dozen people. I ride them all the time. The rides are more expensive than bus or jeepney rides here in the Philippines, but its worth it because it ensures the most safety AND comfort for your ride.. It was supposed to, anyway. My ride takes about an hour from the city to my village. The ride was smooth as always until we were just about to enter my village.
We hit a bump. A really, nasty bump. While I was trying to convince myself it was just a road-hump, the screaming happened. Then the other passengers started shouting too. Floods of people started approaching our FX.
Driver ran over a little kid. A woman screamed first, "AYYY UNG BATA" (meaning: AYYY THE KID). We ran over a little kid. I started cursing everywhere, I was seeing stars. I needed to get out. Well, so did everyone. Everyone started pushing each other to get out, even I screamed at the punk who was sitting next to me (who was listening to metal at full blast for the entire ride).
When I got down, the first thing I saw was blood. There were people crowding around, I saw a woman crying, I saw men kneeling down trying to reach for the kid out. He was apparently under the van. I didn't want to look anymore - all I saw was blood, blood and more blood. I wanted to hurl.
I walked home which was 3 FX-stops away from where I was.. All the way, I heard people sharing the news.
"Ulo pa nya.." (It had to be his head..)
"Stuck under the van"
"... youngest.."
"Patay na yan.." (He's as sure as dead")
I threw up when I got home. I don't feel like eating. I feel like I just want to curl up and mourn for a kid I don't even know.
The worst part? As I walked home, I saw my FX drove by. The same one that ran over the kid. I wondered if he even gave money for the hospital fees or if the mother even pressed charges..
shit..
