What is Kingdom Sky?

A review by Pepper-Head 5/19/13

What is Kingdom Sky?
Kingdom Sky is a close-knit petsite community that revolves around good feels, kindness, and art that'll have you drooling. After a delay, the site launched in June/July of 2012, but within a month it was closed in order to recode, redo the layout, and a few other things. The community was pretty upset, but the site seemed to have been rushed to open and needed the little hiatus in order to brush up.

[[Note: I'm hoping that any drama regarding KS can be left out of my review, please. I guess that it's okay to bring it up for talking points, but there's no use in beating a dead horse!]]

Currently, the site has 7 worlds (one only for premium members), 2 flash games, 7 php games (be it Higher or Lower, Heads or Tails, Guess the Combination, Word Scramble, etc), and 4 games (riddle, word hunt, mystery pic, crossword). You can also have 'gardens', where you place seeds and trade up to 15 feeds with other users in order to get yours to grow and hatch at level 100. Additionally, you can place items at your 'door' (profile) for users to get.

There are site features, like the garden, that definitely involve some interacting with other users, but the community is so kind and open, that it's easy even for shy people like me :)

Pets
On KS, pets are referred to as "Guardians". As of right now, you can NOT get rid of your guardians, and you can only have up to 4 free guardians (though you can buy unlimited pet slots for $10 each), so I cannot stress enough that you choose carefully. However, I have heard that the staff are considering a way to transfer guardians or something to resolve this issue.

In order to get Guardians, you have to Fly (explore) to each individual adoption agency on each world. Each Guardian costs 10,000 Cloud Coins, which you have to earn when you first register. Some Guardians can only be adopted on the Premium land, and some only available through the Cash Shop.

Each guardian starts out as a 'bebe', and you have to train its happiness (toys), life (food), intelligence (books), agility (quest or certain items), and strength (quest or certain items) stats to level 25 in order to make it an adult. If you want to change its color to a premium color, you have to raise each stat to 75. Usually you can boost stats by a few points depending on what rarity of food/books/toys you give it, or the difficulty of the quests.

Onto the Guardians! (Mix of Bebe and Adult)

There are A LOT of Guardians! About 9 of them are not easily adoptable. Some are only available in special release litters, the premium world, or the cash shop. The Soleil (fish) can only be obtained through the game 'Soleil Pond', where you pick a random lily pad and hope you get one.

You can recolor the adults 8 different ways (basic recolors like ruby, emerald, sapphire, etc).
Premium recolors include Starfall, Paradise, Seasonal, Regal, Derp, Blight, Stitchy, and the most recent addition, Astral.

Some colors you can get alternatively or through contests, but they aren't easy to get!
>>VIEW ALL OF THE GUARDIANS AND COLORS HERE

Again, you can only have 4 Guardians unless you buy a lot of pet slots. I think that $10 a Guardian slot is a little steep, and the fact that you not only have to pay for these special colors AND raise your stats like crazy in order to actually use them is a little ridiculous, but it does keep you busy, and there is a lot of drool-worthy Guardian art to look at, so I guess I can't complain too much. Some of the art could be a little more consistent, but I give the pets an
A-

Other Art
Surely you knew that you'd be getting yourself into a lot of art when clicking on something KS related?
There are a lot of animated items, which, while it can be cool... sometimes it's just honestly annoying. I also do not like that a lot of KS's item art does not match up at all. Not even close. It's kinda surprising, since KS is supposed to pride itself on art, right?

I guess it's cute that some food (called Noms) has faces on it, but I personally don't really like that. It's kinda... creepy?

I love love love love the worlds.

All of the NPCs aren't perfect, but they're still very well done!

The avatars all follow the same style, while nice, it can be a little too cutesy sometimes? I think it'd be nice to add some diversity, since not everyone is into that style c:

Some of the names are I Haz A Gloomz, Ninjah Powerz!, Iz A Star!, I Liekz Teh Doggies... but I'll get into that later.

I didn't like the Human Avatars at first, but now I've grown attached C: They recently divided the one normal currency clothing store into two stores, and they are frequently adding new clothes. There's a lot to choose from, though admittedly I wish there were even more xD The 'good stuff' can be very very hard to get.
Anyway, you have 5 layers to customize your avatar with. You can, of course, buy more. (I think there's one you can catch in the cloud coin store, but otherwise you buy it in the cash shop)

This is mine! Ahah I love HAs but I'm never actually good at dressing them up... OTL My friend's avatar is next to mine. She's constantly changing her avatar with different outfits!

The item style consistency kills me, I wish there was a little more diversity with the forum avatars, but really the NPCs and Worlds are just gorgeous : D
A

Written Content
The only 'written content' the site has besides rules and such are through the plots and item descriptions. Normally I'd leave this out, but I think it's good to bring up.
Sometimes the news posts have grammatical errors, but the plots are otherwise well written and engaging. Sometimes I have to force myself to read them, which is unusual for me, but they are presented as huge walls of text. They're very worth it if you just sit down and read though! :D

The main reason I brought this up is for the item descriptions, some item names, and just a bit about the site. It seems to have been very very very geared toward the 'cheezburger talk', as I call it... There's Luff, meme references, and more cheezburger talk everywhere. Remember the names of the avatars? I Haz A Gloomz, Ninjah Powerz!, Iz A Star!, I Liekz Teh Doggies... it can be sorta cute or funny the first few times... but it gets really old. I also find it offputting that some of the keepers (like petpets, you attach them to your Guardian) have simple names like Colorz and Pink for example.

Name: Colorz
Descrip: He lykes colorz.

There seems to be less and less of it added, but there is still a lot of 'cheezburger talk' around the site. It can be very annoying, unprofessional, and childlike. You still can't forget all of the other hard work that the staff has done, so I'll give this area a
B-

Features
To be honest, KS doesn't really have much in this department. As mentioned earlier, there are the gardens. You place seeds in them, and every day you can trade interactions with other users. You can only trade 15 feeds/waters a day, and that's usually done with just one person. You cannot feed your own seeds. At 50 clicks, you can remove the seedling, or you can continue to grow them until they hatch at level 100. They become Keepers, and some of them are wearable (which is quite nice!).

Every season, you can get a item through random events (blossoms, snowballs...). These can be traded in for 'points' and can earn you some sweet prizes in the Blossom Bazaar.

There's also a battle dome, which is kinda bland and there's really no point in battling. To my knowledge, you don't get prizes from defeating enemies. Also, after 3 uses, an item breaks.

Other than that, KS is seriously lacking in features. It'd be nice to see more to do and for there to be more engaging things!
D

Economy
There are three different currencies: Cloud Coins (main), Heart Coins (cash), and Star Cents (earned through trivias posted in the Shout Box).
Cloud coins are fairly easy to earn through games and restocking, if you can get that special item. The best way to go from what I've seen is to play the games, which honestly get very repetitive and kinda boring.

Heart Coins ARE tradable, though there are more users who want to trade Cloud Coins (about 350-400k's worth) than there are looking to trade their Heart Coins. Either way, there are some nice items in the cash shop, and most of them are decently priced. Guardian color changers are $5. Extra Guardian slots are, however, $10. Premium accounts are $5, and while they don't offer TOO much, it's still sorta neat to have it.

The Star Cent shop is kinda expensive, and the only way to get these things are to participate in staff initiated shout box contests. Some users say that they have a LOT of SC, but I have none. I've been on KS a LOT for the past month or so, and I've only seen two contests. I participated in one, and it was super hard, and not all that fun D; Guess I'd better plan on just buying these items from other users.

I'd also like to take a moment to go back to Heart Coins. When you buy HC from KS, a portion (10%) goes to charities. However, that is only after every other bill and such has been paid. So far in this month of May, 44% of $1,600 has been raised. In March, the site made $1,000 and the final balance was almost -$400. In April, the income just succeeded the $1,600 goal, but after the bills, the balance was about -$55. There seems to be only one month, October, where a little over $200 was ACTUALLY donated to a cause. Other that that, there hasn't been any money left over to donate.
A LARGE portion seems to go towards art every time, though the staff have said multiple times that they're implementing budgets and trying to focus some of the money more on features and such. I hope that's true!

All in all, things are reasonably priced and usually the item you may want is in circulation. I'd say that the economy is doing okay, though KS could really do with some more games and (CC) money sinks.
Still not entirely comfortable with grading economies, but I suppose KS earns a B

Navigability
I'll admit right off the bat, when I first joined KS in October, I didn't return after the initial registration because there was so much around, it wasn't very newbie friendly, and it was just simply put, overwhelming. I returned mid/late April to give it another shot, and it took me awhile, but I think that I finally got things settled.

Registering isn't very friendly at all. It's a pretty ugly sight, and you also have to give a reason for wanting to join KS. An admin then has to approve you. I think it took me a good while before I was approved, but when I sat down with my friend a few weeks ago, she was approved in a few hours. I think this is a nice screening system, but it can turn people away. I also had some issues with the form (it wasn't accepting some info) and I had to redo the form completely several times. I also got quite a few 'ERROR ONLY MEMBERS CAN SEE THIS PAGE!', which also displays when you try to login...

As far as the layout goes, ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT it's pretty nice. They also recently added in a new layout, which I lovelovelove! <3 It can be a littttle eyeblinding at times, but I've gotten used to it. I'll link them here for you!
OLD: http://snag.gy/5A0rH.jpg NEW: http://snag.gy/D0HaA.jpg
As a side note, there are no ads on the site.

For new users, because I feel like it counts a lot then, this area gets a C.

Community & Staff
The community is SO kind and SO helpful! There are people who are always talking with each other in the SB and stuff, but honestly they're very welcoming and love to talk to others as well. Everyone is eager to help you out with anything, and they're just a really friendly and supportive bunch. There are also quite a few 'Wishlist Faeries', or people who (anonymously) grant you items from your wishlist. Even rare items! Sometimes, WL Faerie wars break out. It's just a really pleasant feeling c:

The staff don't really have much to moderate at this point, though they're there to help you out if you need it. I think BECAUSE they don't have much action, they can get a little too picky, but they'd just let you off with a verbal warning. There seem to be a LOT of staff, and there is ALWAYS at least ONE moderator or manager online. They are definitely some dedicated volunteers!
Weekly Manager Schedule:
• Sunday: Varies • Monday: Jess • Tuesday: Apple • Wednesday: Amour • Thursday: Farmer • Friday: Erichu • Saturday: Honesta •

Weekly Moderator Schedule:
Saturday: Evolf • Sunday: All • Monday: All • Tuesday: Dracini • Wednesday: Arcinox • Thursday: Tokie • Friday: Arccy •

The forums aren't the most active, but they're still pretty good. The SB is where a lot of the activity is.

The super caring community definitely deserves an A.

My grade: B-
The community is great, the art is amazing, but the site is really lacking in features and games that can keep your interest for an extended period of time. The owner doesn't seem to be on a lot, but the coadmin seems to comment on any help or suggestions that you have. The site is still young and growing, and it has a lot of room to improve!

If you want to get out of your shell, want to make some new friends, or want to see beautiful art, then KS is for you!

http://www.khimeros.com

Khimeros is a visually beautiful pet game which mainly involves breeding, but includes collecting, crafting, mini games, and most other features typical to the pet game genre. What initially drew me into trying it was a forum post here on VPL showcasing new bunnehs (more on that in a minute). After setting up an account, I was introduced to the game with a tutorial which was great! I'm usually good at clicking through an interface and picking up game mechanics, but Khimeros does have non-standard features, and the tutorial was great at helping my first day to go smoother. The tutorial and FAQ are linked on the hotbar so going back for more info is super easy.

I was a little frustrated at first with the fact that you are not given a first pet (keep reading, it will get better) . Instead the tutorial instructs you to start doing mini games to get site currency so you can buy them off other players, or go to the "Givaway" section on the forums to see if anyone is giving them away for free. The cash shop seems geared toward only selling pets for real life currency, which in game are called "beads", and it made me wonder how anyone got a first pet at all when Khimeros was released. Still, the fact that there was a "Giveaway" section was enough for me to go take a peek and see what the conditions were for asking to adopt free pets. There were definitely some generous souls, and it wasn't long before I got my first breeding pair of khimeras (the general name of all the pets on the site).

By day two I had gained a couple horse khimeras, called embarr in-game, and began to breed them. My very first surprise in finding out the unique features of this game came from a Giveaway thread by a user who was giving away what's called an "Overlay". An overlay is an alternate image with a 20% chance of passing that alternate image to it's offspring. The overlay for the embarr species is called an Ayalar. They look just like the unicorn from the movie "The Last Unicorn". After getting my first one, and finding out about the rarity chance of breeding them, I had found my hook to keep me interested in the game!

My second surprise with the game came from playing the dice mini game. Once in awhile you will get a crystal from a good roll which you can trade in for a surprise gift. My first one that I traded in won me a bead, the currency you pay for with real money! I immediately used my bead to purchase a lovely male white Ayalar from another player. I now had a trait which could potentially be bred to make a unicorn that looks like Amalthea from The Last Unicorn. All I will have to do is breed the male and hope he passes his 20% chance trait to a female offspring. I look forward to meeting this challenge! I am also happy that beads do not necessarily have to be purchased to be obtainable. That is good because the cash shop price for beads is high, going for $1.00 US dollar a piece. I know games are not free and have to earn money somehow, but also knowing that I can earn beads here and there means if I do make a bead purchase, I'm not locked into being too careful in how I spend them.
*edit* AngelicOphelia gave this additional tip about crystals:

Quote:

An additional note when it comes to dice, you can win a bunch of random stuff from the crystals, even monthly upgrades, which is really nice

Another feature which makes this game different from others is that there is a secondary pet system, and this is where the bunnehs come in. Khimbits are a mini pet which can be collected and displayed with your Khimeras. If you upgrade your account to premium for a month or more, you can also breed khimbits. Since I'm a free player, I don't know the details of how breeding a khimbit would work, but they appear to have no inheritable traits. You will get a copy of one of the parents, but I could be wrong. This is fine though because the breeding system of the khimeras is very complex!
*edit* AngelicOphelia added this to clarify Khimbit breeding:

Quote:

Khimbit breeding is a special thing that only works with specific khimbits every time it is released. For example, this month (or month and a half or so) you can breed ratties and khangas and get khatarangs which are a hybrid of both pets. The pet that you can breed is always pre-determined. Sometimes you breed two of the same khimbit and get a different posed gen 2 of that breed. You do have to have both of the parent khimbits and an upgrade in order to breed them.

Breeding khimeras is probably something I cannot do justice about with words. There are many different traits which can be passed down to offspring in a wide variety of combinations. Furthermore, it seems any khimera of any species can be bred with any khimera of another species, and hybrids are almost as varied as the traits. You could breed a griffon khimera with a horse, and get a hippogriff. You could also get a reverse and get a griffon with the back end of a horse. I've seen horses with lion backs, dragons with butterfly and bird wings, wolves and horses with feline backs, etc etc and on and on. Add the "overlay" system on top of that, and you can see how extremely complex breeding can be, and fun for those like me who love attempting to make beautiful descendants from breedings.
*edit* AngelicOphelia also gave this tip"

Quote:

I just wanted to clarify that not ALL the breeds are able to be hybrids. There are a few special breeds that don't have the compiler set up that way, and their poses are set up differently. The main breeds are able to have either the front or back of either parent though, those being embarrs, likos, asadia, kalan, uwila, and ayalon. The ayalar that you are so fond of is an overlay made exclusively for the ayalon-embarr hybrids, so think of it as a mix between the horse-type pet and the deer-type pet.

After nearly a week of playing, I still have so much to learn! I have barely touched on crafting, avatar characters, decorating pets, all the mini games, collections, and other features I probably don't know about yet. As a new player I'm definitely already hooked and will be sticking around for awhile trying different combos of breeding, and eventually I hope to have my own Giveaway section for other new players.

Warning: Image Heavy Review!
Anatheria. A site I spent many of my years working for and playing on. It's the site that got me into making pet art, actually; it was the first that I was realistically able to work for, and it was great to be a part of it for a while. I joined back when it was still Kenopets, in 2006, and I've since had to make a new account, but I've still got them both. I've quit the site entirely, so I admit there will be some bias here, but I will do my best to be neutral in my review.

First Impressions:
Looking at the current layout, the site screams 'empty' to me. There aren't very many images, the news isn't on the front, and all you can really see, aside from the top banner, is a bunch of text. Not very enticing, if I may say so myself. I remember on one of the older layouts, there used to be all kinds of cute images our former artist InsaneCoffee (now an artist at Subeta, congrats girl!) did to spice things up, but it would seem they've either been removed or the admins forgot about them. For me, at least, once you start diving in (if the empty front page somehow doesn't deter you) you can tell how barren it is (more so than The Barrens themselves). There aren't a whole lot of things to do on Anatheria outside of some games, minigames, and getting the pets you want. The forums are inactive and aren't the best way to get to know people, honestly. It's very easy to run out of things to do on the site. There maybe be 60+ pet species and 500+ items, but not much to do with them.

Layout(s):
I'm going to talk about all the layouts that Anatheria/Kenopets has had since it began, since I remember using them all.

This was the first layout, which while plain, seemed a little ahead of its time in terms of navigation, since I'd never seen people use top navigation before, or even have pet stats in the sidebar. Coming from the old yellow neopets layout, this was really cool. You had the option of choosing a number of different ones based on other pets, and they were very pretty. It was easy to find everything, though a little stale (then again, most layouts were in those days haha)

I can't find a more complete screenshot of the layout unfortunately, but this is the best I can get. This was the second layout that Anatheria had, right when it changed to Anatheria. I always found it more aesthetically pleasing, honestly. It had a top banner as well, and it indicated whether it was day or night, as well as top bar navigation underneath it. It was very uncluttered as well, and it looked very sleek and modern. Navigation was still very simple and easy.

Avoiding having to make a new screenshot myself, this is the best one I can find. This is the rather barren and empty layout I spoke of. Everything's still simple and easy to use, but it's still so... boring, and it reflects on the site.

Overall Score: 7/10 (C)

Artwork:
In this case I may be partially inflating my own ego, but I think the artwork on Anatheria is rather spectacular. It's improved a lot over the ages, and it certainly shows. The style, however, isn't the least bit consistent with one another. Each artist uses their own style, and none of them are necessarily bad, but you can definitely tell who did what.

Old to New

Items:

The wide variety of styles has honestly never been a deterrent for me, and it's almost part of Anatheria's charm. Consistently inconsistent, I guess you could say. None of them are particularly bad either, though a lot of pets still need revamps to match.

We've had a wide variety of people come and go, many of which went on to be very popular artists (InsaneCoffee, Clarri/Clarrissa, Neiko, Hinatacha, AishaNeko) and I only wish they would've stuck it out with me a bit longer haha.

Overall Score: 8/10 (B)

Content/Features/Updates/Things To Do:
I don't even know where to start with this... It's pretty stale. There's a surprisingly wide variety of html games to play, but not many activities otherwise. You can easily buy all the power drops you need for all the elements (outside of Lightning, Crystal, and Miasma) and you can easily get all the pets you want within a week or two at most, then you're left with nothing to do! The News is usually empty for weeks at a time outside of eggs stocking in the hatchery once a month. I know from a staff standpoint, we did our best to draw things, but we can only do so much until they're implemented. We can't even upload things ourselves, and we have to sometimes wait months for things we made to be uploaded (often for things meant for a release soon after they're posted!), often badgering the admins to do work. They will often upload things marked for revamps, or upload things that are over two or three years old, and when confronted, seem to give nothing more than a shrug.

Overall score: 3/10 (F)

Final Words:
I have great memories with Anatheria, but I've come to really dislike it. The admins seem to focus more on their own lives (not a bad thing!) than the site itself, and it shows with the neglect of it. I know that they'd refuse to sell to another party, and as far as I'm aware, they may not renew the site when that time comes. They have a lot of amazing ideas, but are very poorly practiced. They don't communicate well with staff, and so everything is rather disorganized. Nothing gets done, and it really isn't helping the site. Even when I expressed ideas to help, I was blamed for the site's downfall, which was irritating, being that I was the only artist who bothered to stay after such a long time. I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the site again, honestly. My friends have moved on, nothing will get fixed, and I've completely quit with trying to pull it out of the depths of failure.

I still wish Zerkonia and Pyroneus the best of luck with their lives, but I don't see their site going much further than this.

Final Score: 6/10 (D)
“Welcome to Misticpets. We at Misticpets strive to provide a safe, free and entertaining site for our users. You are a guest in our Misticpet community and we ask that you treat our other guests and staff with courtesy and respect. Before creating an account and using Misticpets, we ask that you read our rules, terms and conditions. At the end of this information you will be asked to agree to these terms, before moving forward to create your account. Once your account has been created, you will be held responsible for any rules that have not been followed, or broken, on your account. Terms and Conditions as well s in site posted rules may be updated, altered, changed or edited at anytime without warning. It is your responsibility to keep track of any changes whether we give any notice or not.”

It doesn’t offer too much information about the site itself, but that is OK. It is always fun to explore and look around to figure out what is going on.
---

So let’s dig in!
You are greeted with a nice and neat homepage though I was never too fond of the layout set up (and have spoken to Zara about this a few times). It is highly outdated and could be organized a lot better. I often find myself getting lost looking for links and specific places on the site. The one part of the layout that I love, though, is the bookmark system. It makes it easier once I do find out where I am going.
Their art, on the other hand, I am rather fond of. Mistic is good at keeping a decent quality art style and works at updating images that may be a bit behind.

-----

There is a large amount of activities to do on MP. Back when I had first started playing I had left because I grew bored. After coming back, it seems the team has been very hard at work with adding new and improved content.

Games – Their game page is filled with all kinds of things for users to do. The first category is quests which have the Traveler's Quest, BenBaggz Quest, Volcan's Quest, and Dr. Erlenmeyer. Each quest is a typical item finder quest, but broken into different categories.

Next is the flash game category. It has Nokwi's Kiwi (Snake), Draklaitas Blocks (Tetris), Chirango (A made up game that I am EXTREMELY fond of and related to bingo), Zokudoku (Sudoku), Memory Match, Infestation (Galaga), and Hatchi Defender (Move character across bottom of screen to block falling objects).

Following in line are the non-flash games: Tombola, Punch (Randomly hit a given item to win a prize), Giveaway, Number Guess, Higher or Lower, Heads or Tails, Vending Machine, Raffle, Slot Machine, Battling Znakes (Rock paper scissors), Percy's Pantry (Food guessing game), Rayna's Rainbow (Color guessing game), Pop the poppet (Random chance of winning prizes), Crunch (Similar to trying to steal gold from a dragon/monster type game), Forest Finds (Randomly click a square to find a Pal which is a minipet), and Rainbow Squares (Puzzle color game).

The final area of games is the Contest and Trivia section. Here they have the Artist Entry, Poetry Entry, Writer's Entry, News Desk (For Mistica Chronicles), Trivia, Distorted Pix, What am I?, Totally Random, Poll Booth, Pet Spotlight, Member Spotlight, Profile Spotlight, and Hungry Hippalos (Feed specific items).
Battle – Misticpets has a battle arena where you use can use weapons with your pets to fight enemies. They have PVP, basic battles, and challenges. I have never been into battling much myself, but it seems to apply like most other pet sites in the industry. There are even battle specific shops you can use to buy weapons and other various objects from. A neat points system would be interesting here for when you win battles and such.

Explore – Their explore page offers a lot of places to go. It is very interesting to be able to go to the difference areas and keep on walking to others. I also enjoy the art that is along with it and it looks like it took a long time to construct.
Alliances – These are like clans for pet sites. You can have a primary alliance (which will play more of a role in the future) and join up to 4 others. Or you can own your own which would be your primary. Currently they act as small communities, but according the alliance page, they will offer more benefits and updates for this part of the site in the future.

Legendaries – Not a name I have seen before, but this is MP’s human avatar system. It is relatively new to the site and I enjoy using it. The closet area could use a bit of work, however. There is no easy way to layer the items onto your HA and you constantly have to take things on and off until you get the exact order you wish to have. The style is nice and the items are fun and interesting to wear.

Achievements – This looks to be fresh out of the oven. I enjoy when pet sites have this, even if it is becoming more and more used. It gives users a chance to work toward new goals and offers rewards for completing different tasks. It is a great addition to Misticpets. It still has some bugs to be worked out, but I know this will be very nice to use.
Other – These were the parts of the site that stuck out the most to me, but there is still more than that. They have forums, auctions, shops/restocking/usershops, galleries, events, plots, a news letter, chatbox(closed at this exact time), and more.
Note – To do some of these tasks, you may have to have your pet hunger or mood up to a specific % or number. This is to give users a bit of a reason to tend to the pets rather than just having the pets as “trophies” or collections. Only the active pet counts in this case.
I am very happy with the amount of content on Misticpets and I know they are working on fixing up and adding more. They even have/had an adoptables branch to the site for awhile as well.
Content/Games: 10/10

-----

Conclusion;
As I said above, Misticpets offers a lot and is still working to add more. The community itself seems very nice and I have never had a problem with any of the users. The staff is also nice and willing to listen. Little to no drama has been seen with MP as far as I know.
If the layout would get updated I think Mistic would be up there with one of my top picks for pet sites to play. Even without an updated layout, it is a great site. Certainly worth a play.
