Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.
You can't even compare Jellyneo to Leopets. Jellyneo is more of a help site/guide for Neopets. Leopets on the other hand is an actual game that uses Neopet's images. They could get into legal troubles if they use their images regardless if they're profiting or not because of copyright, which is why they had to get permission.

After a quick google search, according to this thread, you can use neopets images as long as they aren't edited in any way and you post the copyright/used with permission on your site.

I will see what else I can find about this, if you only need to paste the ''used with permission'' or actually ask for written permission. Don't want to get into any trouble
Well, they are both fansites. Judging by Leopet's homepage they do not have permission. Or atleast they do not say they have permission. They simply state that "Leopets is a seperate fansite dedicated to Neopets." Still, I would stay on the safe side and make sure it is ok with Neopets. Just tell them that you are making a game, as a fansite, and tell them you will take no money in from it.

I'm sending an e-mail to neopet's legal department to clarify this.
Actually when it first opened. Laska did indeed ask permission from Neopets to use the images. She was told as long as there was no profit in the site it was okay. Back then it did have the copyright thing at the bottom when you logged it. I do not know about now.

if you decided to work on it, I can help out in the writing section and the mod section![]()

@cpvr - I've never thought about it that way... probably at least twice the size, I'd say. But it would be a whole different site without the application filtering out the people who aren't literate enough >_>;
