Foreword

The origin of Kingdom Sky is rooted in its painful past. After playing and working in many virtual petsites I was turned away by the lack of leadership and disregard for the users that continue to plague many sites to this day. After being scammed, used, and abused from the sites I worked for and played, I decided to call it quits and focus on my family-specifically my grandfather. The only father figure I have known and whose support, love, and encouragement had been my guiding light. He had suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Having received notice that he would probably not make it to Christmas, I decided to drive with my mother and pick him to spend as much time as we could together. I never got that chance. Hours from arriving, he suffered another stroke and fell, causing a ruptured brain aneurysm. He quickly faded and passed away and suddenly he was gone...


But not in spirit. The loss of someone you love, is one of the most heartbreaking, heart wrenching, life altering experiences one can ever experience and through the pain of realizing I would never hear his voice, his laughter, his warm embrace, his words of encouragement, support, and love rang in my ears and resonated heart louder than ever.


Kingdom Sky is Born

That Christmas we had a family reunion to celebrate my the memory of my grandfather. My grandmother presented us with a special gift. My grandfather had a small savings account nobody knew about and in his will he divided the amount of money equally among his 5 children, and his sixth child, who he always loved like a daughter, me.


So with his gift of $1000, I set out to create an online world where we could not only have fun, but also support humanitarian causes that we, as a community vote to send proceeds of site sales to. This is a big part of why I wanted to create KS, as my grandfather probably would still be here today if there was a cure for cancer, or in the very least, better medicines and treatment that could help patients with aggressive and devastating cancers.


Our mission is simple, cultivate a community of caring, support, and encouragement and at the same time, rally together to support organizations that need our help.


Fiscal Responsibility

Kingdom Sky is completely financed by myself. It has been a sacrifice to do so, especially with a new baby, but I believe in KS and the community we are trying to build as well as the organizations we want to support.

I believe that as a site owner, our users have a right to know how the money they spent onsite is used, so I will be creating monthly reports stating the following information:

1. The amount of money that was paid in paypal fees, federal, and state taxes.

2. The amount of money that was used to pay staff.

3. The amount of money we were able to donate to the sponsored organization-10% of sales after taxes and fees.

4. The amount of money used to pay site fees, such as hosting and server costs.

5. The amount of money placed in KS savings.


I will provide proof that the monies donated, were in fact donated either as a receipt, or pdf. Sometimes I will deliver the funds personally, and share pictures with you all. We will also invest heavily back into the site to continuously add features, improve coding, increase speed, promote efficiency, and maintain our high quality art.


The Future of Kingdom Sky

I strongly believe Kingdom Sky is in the hands of God. As a staff, we will work our hardest to cultivate a nurturing community and create awareness to organizations that need our help. Unlike many other online games, our hearts are not focused on monetary gains. Our reward is building upon our community and doing the most good-together.


It is not our job to judge, or discuss our own personal beliefs, but we do ask that you respect ours and our users, so please understand we reserve the right to remove/block/ban content we feel goes against the caring community we are trying to build and grow.

Thanks. But I would greatly prefer to stay out of the delusional religious bullshit I hear from people for following that path too darn seriously.
If I needed a God, I have Science and my own insane delusions for that.

It's just an About Us page? It's not like it's included in the registration. It's an inspiration. It's not saying you have to be a certain religion to play.

There are tons of games out there that have subliminally put religion into it. Heck, take Dragon Quest for example. When you save, you have to go into a church, and talk to a priest. It's no biggy. You just play the gameeeee.

I just thought I'd mention. Nobody is making anyone join. If you have a problem with the site, then don't worry we won't force you there. I don't see any point to these arguments and butchering. It just surprises me that people are so bored to come and attack something based on what others think. Humanity in a nutshell.
