Re: Neopets merchandise: ever bought some

So, I was obsessed with Neopets in Grade 6- until about Grade 9...

Over those years, I accumulated about 200+ toys and merchandise.

I had about 50 or so of the 6 inch plush toys, 125+ of the mcdonalds toys, 25 or so of the little vinyl figures, 3 of the big talking ones, 2 of the handheld deluxe "tamagotchi" games, all the magazines, many many cards and some other odds and ends like door signs and notebook paper.

I tried selling it all a few years ago, and ultimately ended up losing ALL of it when my ex boyfriend threw out all of my things when I went to Texas. It was a blessing in disguise- I had way too many toys for an 18 year old.

I don't remember there being much of a selection. I'm pretty sure I wanted the Kumos. I don't remember the price either. It was somewhere around 20 dollars I think though.

I bought their Darkest Faerie game the year it came out. I never beat it, but it actually wasn't completely horrendous from what I remember. It was mildly interesting but I guess it wasn't good enough to pick back up and finish.

I think when I was a kid I also got a Scorchio plush.

If you count going to McDonald's and getting a free Neo plush with my Happy Meal, then yes, I have technically "bought" one.

This thread reminds me of when I was huge into neopets. I had this awesome idea of this merchandise EMPIRE for neopets and I seriously believe that my idea would have brought them millions of dollars in.

It was basically a physical neopets store that was more like an arcade. You'd play all the neopet games (and then some) and earn points that you put onto a card and you can go to the counter and purchase all the neopets merchandise with the points you earned. But the merchandise was more adultish and would have been more fun to collect for everyone, not just kids.

I am so pinching that and putting it in 'Ideas for the future' notebook.
Project "Z" is currently in the making, we have our domain, pet and a few items done. We hope to enter Beta in August 2014. Stay tuned.

Graphics coulda been better, especially for PS2. Gameplay was average. Not great, but not terrible either.

Wow, what a collection you have there. Did you buy the neopets plushies at shops or on Ebay? I'm curious at how much they use to cost and all.
