I didn't disappear, I got a job elsewhere and didn't need to advertise here for awhile. I was also in a car accident which landed me in the hospital for several weeks. If that's what you think is a 'guilty' disappearance then whatever. I have never stolen code, and I'm sorry but the idea of a database class isn't novel. I used tutorials to help me write the database class, not other people's code.

But you have nothing more to say about the topic so you're attacking me? Classy.

You invited yourself here to make naive comments, like his code would be elsewhere in 16 years. Yeah, because he goes out and posts his code as open source on blogs, and forums, right? Lmfao. And it's simple SEO code, that even someone like you could've created.

In fact, you thought it the opposite of novel so much that you decided 'what the heck? No one's going to notice.'.

    Convenient timing on your 'accident'.

Well when you demand for code examples you expect people to post them publicly. And it's not the first time this week a programmer has been attacked publicly, and while you may say that it's saving other people from getting scammed, it's not really fair to attack someone and then when they decide to leave due to the hostilities you laugh and call them a scammer when they walk away. I don't have to be an expert programmer to understand what's rude and ticks people off, and I'm not even going to bother responding to your insults.

    Posting again for my hubby-

'Unless functions are made specifically for a site you will find almost every function out there on the web at some point or another. I've noticed that code you have posted isn't in context either, just a "list of functions" written with Fuel with very little user input enclosed. If you read the post you made there, you say you documented it well for future developers which is a good thing. What if that future developer does not use Fuel and instead uses Cake, Zend or base PHP? Writing PHP in a framework may be easier and a bit faster, but why hold yourself to one framework? Most existing sites out there are built in basic PHP with the exception of most of the CMSs and offer next to no scalability for future developers or site owners. Using a framework is great if you don't want to do a lot of work and don't want to know exactly what your code is doing. This has been a long held argument in programming (and especially in PHP) circles.

My wife posted here since I was talking about moving my coding away from the adult industry where I currently hold quite a few clients, but I see now that this list was not the place to expand. Having a real business, paying taxes on said business and holding to a business model with clients holds me to do what I need to do, not what I want to do. Enjoy your framework and lazy coding.'
And I'm not saying anything else on the matter. This thread I've requested for cpvr to lock as soon as he can get around to it.

He wasn't attacking the programmer. And when asked if the programmer did in fact right the code posted, or if they had more samples, the programmer decided to leave. That looks very suspicious to me.

Clever wording. I demanded nothing. I even said he could've ignored me entirely. I asked nicely actually. Oh wait, you weren't there were you? Lying again.

"nd while you may say that it's saving other people from getting scammed, it's not really fair to attack someone"

Of course you would be against scammers getting caught. Makes perfect sense now.

If itticked him off because I wanted to see something legitimate, then that's his issue.

Admit defeat finally? Ok run along now and don't use sticky fingers on site's intellectual property.

If someone was being rude to you and accusing you of stealing code(whether you did or not) on a thread where you're trying to advertise your services are you telling me you would stay on that forum? If you didn't steal the code you'd be offended and insulted. What I have a problem with is making these accusations public because what happens when the accuser is wrong? You've killed someone's reputation for no reason which is by no means fair or 'polite'.

I was there. In fact, I saw it before he did and I'm not the only one who agrees that there was something wrong with what you posted because guess what, it was deleted. I am not against scammers getting caught I'm against people making public displays to ruin a reputation. If you had an issue with his code, why not PM him and then if he ignored you gone to a moderator about him being a possible scammer and let a moderator handle it? There are better ways to go about doing this kind of thing. And your personal insults will get you nowhere.

Humilating him further was not a wise decision.

OK, first of all, I am so offended. I am so embarassed to be using a framework made by professionals who know what they're doing. And that must mean I suck. :/

"What if that future developer does not use Fuel and instead uses Cake, Zend or base PHP? "

Obviously you only hire the ones that know it? Or a similar framework? Or if they're worth it, you teach them it? Put two and two together, not that hard.

"but why hold yourself to one framework? "

All classes allow extending of them, so I'm not held down at all. The questions are getting better now.

" offer next to no scalability for future developers or site owners."

OK, simple research on this one, c'mon. They're obviously designed for sites of all sizes, and scalability is ultimately up to the developer.

"This has been a long held argument in programming (and especially in PHP) circles."

Mhmm, so ignore my question and bring up this circular debate? Makes circular sense.

I hate to comment on this all, but uhm, frameworks rock, and I can't think of a single major site that doesn't use one...

Ok. People. Stop please. There is no need to keep going on. This isn't a debate thread and there is no need for insults. Let's jut drop this now before it gets any further.
