    Shading chat(help others learn to shade and get help!)

    Well, since my biggest hurtle isnt lines but its shading, ive decided to make a thread where people can share there tips, ask to be asigned a shading tutor, or ask to be a tutor! If this is in the wrong spot or not ok tell me. NOTE: shading tutors-dont expect to be paid, its supposed to be volunteer. Shading students- dont expect to pay your tutors or anyone else here.
    Shading tutors will test their students on shading and give them lessons via pm.

    Well, I wouldn't mind trying to help somebody o-o;
    I'm no expert, obviously, but I can at least offer some decent critiques and such I think.

    Examples scattered about in case I may be of service to anybody.

    My suggestion would be for you to look up tutorials (like on deviantArt), find some objects around the house and maybe put them under a lamp. Move the object around and see how the shading works. Put it in other lit areas and see how it looks, too. And of course you can see how other people have shaded. Look where the light source is coming from, and look where shading and highlights are c:

    But the only way you'll get good at shading... is practice! ^^ It took me a while to get better, and I can still learn, but practice makes perfect c: Think about placement (is it a leg that's sticking out? or is it behind something) and where the light source is. These are just a few 'tips'.. really I think it's something you learn on your own c':

    Someone read my mind! I've been working on learning how to shade for a while now. I honestly still don't think I'm that great at it..... X.X

    @Sno - I found a couple of tutorials online on Youtube and Deviant Art and another site that show 3 ways of shading. I found the one that works best for what I was trying to do. And when I get to doing items later, Bexxy's item shading tutorial she posted here seems to be the easier way for me to shade items. Thumbs up all around!
