New Neopets game coming: thoughts

But this game totally makes sense if you realize that they have 8-bit colored pets, and that 'indie' game is totally trendy now. Ever heard of Bit Trip Ninja and so many other games like that? I personally really enjoy pixels, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I see your point, but I still don't believe it's Neopets style.

And it really isn't so much about wahat you like. They are big because people like what they do. If people didn't, they'd sink. I am only being critical since I've had a watchful eye over them throughout the years. Ownership changes also hurt them more than help.

If my site ever becomes that popular, I'd NEVER sell it. Even for all the money in the world. D: (I'd rather have it rot than have someone else own it....)

They were already heading in the wrong direction before they sold it, that's why they sold Neo to Viacom. Can't remember where, but I read it in an interview. Besides, with what happened to Meteor Games, I'm kinda glad they sold Neo.

@Dawnshadow Whats the Darkest Faerie like? I might buy it. I bought some other game for like $2 of Neopets on the Wii, can't think what its called though.

Doesn't astound me or convince me to play it. Not something that would make me want to log in again. While I don't believe in Neopets having a fixed style (their dead facebook game seemed to have a slight Japanese style to it, which was cute), and I do like pixel-games, it's.. missing something.

I'm.. not too impressed D; If they were going to release something, why not release images that would create a lot of hype? I'm not so sure I'm into this... it doesn't seem special at all.

I was actually wondering if Neo would create another game the other day. I started replaying The Darkest Faerie just for the heck of it, and I'm thinking of playing Puzzle Adventure again. If they could create something like TDF again, I would flock to the stores to get it <3 I love that game! PA was okay, I'm not too interested in playing it twice... and I did like the FB game (Treasure Seekers?), but I got bored of it after a while.

If it's a flash game, I won't mind. But if they make it into a platformer game... augh D; I may give up on hoping for another TDF.

The fact is, Neopets has a whole new audience now. They're owned by Viacom, which means, kids graphics are expected. They haven't released a new flash game in what, a long time?

I'm surprised they're not pushing out html5 games as well.

Ya, sometimes its a good idea to sell your company because you can't manage it anymore. Doug took it to a whole new level - in terms of revenue.

They really didn't have much of a choice in that matter. The site was taking up a lot more money/resources than Adam/Donna could handle.

The preview pic reminds me of old Sonic games XD I don't even play Neo anymore though so I won't be trying this out.
