    Your life vs your site.

    Is your website your life?
What have you done to make your website successful? Did you go to school to learn programming, advance your art skills, learn business management?
Do you live, eat, breath, sleep your website?
What have you sacrificed to make it more successful?

I'm just wondering what others are doing while they are doing their website, where they are at in life and what kinds of things they've done to help themselves. I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out what to do with myself.

I will not give up on my website, but the website isn't paying bills and it may never pay bills. :-/

Since I've started making Utasia I've have my car t-boned and totaled by a woman, screwed by the following lawyer and her insurance, been in the hospital twice without insurance, and had a friend not pay back money that I gave them out of a loan I took specifically out for Utasia. I could be paying off my large medical debt with the money I spend on Utasia, I spend hundreds per month of art on some months or I could spend that money on myself of course. I haven't slowed down a bit tho, not finishing Utasia isn't an option even though I need to get surgery. I just have to finish what I started, I can't let my team down and I know that when the site is up and running then it will have been worth all the money and time.
That's my story anyways, life likes to come in an fuck you anytime you start a project it seems.

Ekos has been nothing but wonderful for me. So far it's only brought in enough to keep itself hosted, but heck I don't care XD I paid a lot out of my own pocket in the start to get things going and gosh, I'm not going to stop working on it till I'm old and loosing my memory haha

It actually was what ended up getting me my webdesign internship I have now (and possible a job there after I'm done with school).

I think those that focus on their site more than anything, usually have more success than those that don't.

Is your website your life? No, not really. With my daughter as young as she is, I work on it as I can!
What have you done to make your website successful? It's still in the works, but it's coming!
Did you go to school to learn programming, advance your art skills, learn business management? Nope.
Do you live, eat, breath, sleep your website? Not at the moment. My daughter is my first priority for now!
What have you sacrificed to make it more successful? Right now sleep! XD

I dedicate my self to my website, and I contribute to it with creating quality content, promoting, and updating it on a regular basis. So I do consider it my life.

I created VPL when I was only 15. It's been apart of my life for the past few years. I know a few owners that started running their site at a young age as well. It's amazing how some owners have grown over the past few years. Like, creating something out of nothin.
