Praise to that Lewis. I don't think there should be much of an issue when someone is not from the site. You can still have their name, artist name, username etc on it. You could have a list of anonymous contributions for those who would rather have it so.

A summery is already a good step in the professional direction I think. But if you really want to please an artist make it in full. That's what I would do.

What if you found an artist from deviant art or a similar site? Would it be good to link to their profile?

You could do that if the artist would like that. I see no harm in it if they agree and you post it. It might please them very much as it means even more publicity for them.

So would you ask the artist before adding them to the page?

I still don't think a whole list of credits does not deserve its own page. Nor that it would be handy to put it solely on a page already dedicated to something else.

Also, Could you tell me how the idea of having credits on the about page came to you?
It came to me as an idea because an "About us" page could contain credits, a mission statement, and things like that. I guess it's more of a thought than anything.

I sure would ask them. It's important to understand an artists privacy. Not everyone would want their main page or pages of art to be linked to in every or maybe none of the projects they are involved in. It just depends. You could always ask them why.

    Re: Credits page

I had gotten into the habit of making a credits page on every site I make due to my work in graphics. (Not having a credits page on ones' graphic website is looked down upon greatly for obvious reasons.) For any and every site I make, I will always have a credit page. People deserved to be recognized and thanked for their work, regardless if you paid for it. That's just me though.

@kami me if you want me to respond/see your message.

    Re: Credits page

I like credits pages myself. My pet site will have one <3 and @cpvr will probably take up 90% of it. jkjk.

I think they are good to have, though I've noticed most of them are named 'Staff'. For instance, BooPets credit page is really the staff page. It lists everyone who works for them. I'm not sure if @PaulSonny removes anyone even if their contributions are kept but their employment isn't. Good question actually..

Maynard: I think most of us grew up in a pretty sterile environment. A
lot of that stuff just wasn't around. It's all pretty much peaches and
    cream . . . flowers . . . everything's nice, ignore all the bad stuff.
And the world's just not like that. And I think that the sooner people
get to the point where they realize that the ugly stuff is just as
important as the beautiful stuff - it goes hand in hand, I think that
we can get on with evolving.
