So you allow users to spam members for referrals? If he spammed Aywas and us, what makes you think he hasn't done so on PetRpg, or is there not a rule against that?
We allow people to advertise other sites. But their threads are all kept to one per person basically. There's also a time limit for how long they can post. i think it's three hours before they're able to bump their own threads again. So if no one is replying, they aren't really spamming anything. Not to mention we have an entire section dedicated to 'other sites'

Our forums are also customizable, and you can disable the ability to see 'other sites' in the top ten bar if you don't want to.

We can't really stop our members from spamming up other sites, this is while I felt negatively about PetRPG being brought up at all. I feel it was unnecessary as King being a moderator on PetRPG shouldn't really be an issue. It's not our fault. xD Maybe if someone would just let him know that spamming's not cool, that would be a better approach.

    King is very young, afterall.

Sorry about that. I just meant that a moderator should've known better than to spam.

@Love - Your analogy is very flawed. No someone in the US wouldn't punish a thief in China. However say that thief comes to America and steals a very valuable item. In both America and China he should and will be punished. King was not breaking the rules of KS in KS. He was breaking the rules of other sites within those sites, and should be punished on within all sites that were negatively affected by his actions, KS included.

I will give KS this. It is their site, and they will run it how they see fit. But I would hope both pros and cons have been weighed. A site's reputation can be one of if not the primary factors that will cause a site to grow. If users think highly of a game or a site, word will get around about that site by word of mouth, and I can gurantee you KS will see more users coming to KS by having a good reputation instead of having one good referer who tends to ruin the entire site's image for many. That is my suggestion to KS.

I think the issue was not that he works for your site Haunt. But the fact he is a mod he should know better than to mass mail people on other sites just to get referrals for another site. Even if he is young, its still is something a mod should know. Its not directed at your site itself.

I think KS has shot themselves in the foot. If they made an example of King they could have kept the referral prizes.

I'm just speculating, nothing I say will have any impact. But I side with Slash and say I am disappointed in KS.

Not being funny, I think King should be banned from KS or have all of his referral prizes/referrals removed.
We cant do what he did to obtain referrals, but he gets to keep his prizes and referral count for something he pressured others into doing.
its bollocks. Now I have my router I can get onto skype, So I'll talk to angel about it.

We all remember when a forum owner went around spamming their link to get people to join.. It's frowned upon and only makes the site look bad in the long run, but Marapets users do it all the time as well, same with Neopets. However, that doesn't mean its okay, it means those users are stubborn and refuse to follow the rules of the referral system. It is common sense not to send a link to someone without talking to them first, and then, sending it to them. The main issue i see here is that King spammed member's PMs, which is wrong because he could have just made a forum thread on that particular site, or included the banner in his signature.

It's like a little kid that wants attention, and spamming, is one way to bring attention to an issue, and sometimes solve it. If he was stripped off all his prizes and banned, how can we be sure he doesn't come back on another account? You won't really know if he did though. But, since I don't work for KS, I can see why they haven't reset his information yet - he has brought in a lot of users to the site - and some of them could be cash shop buyers and/or play the site a lot, so its kind of like catch 22.

And plus, he's in the wrong because he can go to Yahoo answers - answer questions in regards to pet sites, and include his referral link. That's a good promotion method. Take note as well. Another thing that he could be doing instead of spamming, is writing blog comments on certain blogs, and building his links to his referral link like that. It won't get referrals as fast as spamming though, but its a much better method.
