I most probably was called Abbey on there xD I keep trying to convince him to make another game, I'm not sure if he just lost his enthusiasm for HP or pet sites altogether though :-\

Well, from what he told me, I think he lost enthusiasm for pet sites in general, at least as far as making them. But he did mention the idea of working on a different style of game in the future. I suggested the idea of using Kickstarter to get some funding for another game so that it's easier to hire artists, etc. I've seen people do that and it usually turns out quite well

Just a note: It is against the Kickstarter rules to use it for anything that needs constant upkeep - like a web business .

Ah, right. I wouldn't know the rules - Kickstarter can't be used in Australia But it can't even be used as to simply get the initial funds to hire people to create assets for a pet game? And does that even count as a 'web business'?

I don't think it can be, unfortunately. I was looking into using it for one of my games. I think the idea is that in the end there's no "finished product" to physically send out.

From the Kickstarter "rules": "A project has a clear goal, like making an album, a book, or a work of art. A project will eventually be completed, and something will be produced by it. A project is not open-ended. Starting a business, for example, does not qualify as a project."

And I know I saw somewhere else them specifically stating no web businesses or things that need constant upkeep, but its formatted differently than last time, so maybe they re-worded it?

Hmm, okay... I thought I'd seen Kickstarter funding used for virtual reasons, but maybe I'm wrong? I know there are a lot of rules and regulations when you use Kickstarter, so you'd have to look through all the fine print to find out
