Well, Aywas has been online since October 1, 2009 - and since then it has had its fair share of internet success - especially considering the time its been online - its about two years old now - if you don't considered when Aywas truely opened.
I'm user #195 - so I've been with Aywas from the start, and I believe there's a lot of things that make Aywas - a unique game changer to the web - especially since its unique features include "exploring for pets", and "customized pets".
Is Aywas a good game?
Well, it depends - what's your definition of a good game? Aywas has a lot of features that keep users coming back - like its breeding system - which allows users to breed their virtual pets with other ones - and then you also have the "Explore for pets" feature - which means, you need to explore the worlds of Aywas in order to get "a pet", or "find a pet", and plus, you also come across NPCs while you're exploring - and when your pet levels are down - you need to feed it before you can explore.
So, this game is good if you like "Collecting" pets, and "Exploring" for them as well. This is one of the main features of Aywas that has really helped them form a unique twist to a pet site.
Also, Aywas displays its true love for its members - by Aywas, help support Earthquake/Tsunami victims in Japan, which shows that Aywas' staff members care about the world and its surroundings - so, why not join a pet game that's more unique than other pet sites?
You can also see Aywas wiki's - which was created by Shadow Files (#9437)
^^this was Shadow created the wiki for - according the Aywas thread on the forums,Edit: Currently, the Aywas Wiki offers a reference of all site pets and most of the items.Even if you're not interested in editing, by all means, feel free to use what's on the wiki so far and maybe even request pages to be made!

Advertisements?
No, Aywas doesn't have any advertisements on the site - they rely on their "Cash shop" - which allows users to donate and buy things, thus, supporting Aywas itself - so that means, the more players/supporters that Aywas has - the more it'll grow. Why? Users love to support the game, and support it by any means necessary - thus, Aywas is in for a great future - however, do you think if Aywas had advertisements - you would leave, or would you stick around?
Well, their users have created a ton of customized pets - and we believe this feature has made Aywas more unique to the game - why? What pet site do you know allows users to create their own pets - based around the pets that they own?
See our thread post your favorite pets
So, what type of customized pets does Aywas have?
Here are some of the customized pets that Aywas have created - and posted as their favorite pets:
Not only has the "customized pets" feature become a major attraction of Aywas - users tend to have fun to see who can create the best - and most liked "customized pet", which means - Aywas community is full of talented artists - and it shows.
What are customs?
The [url=http://aywas.pokeds.com/Main_Page]Aywas wiki[/url has the best information on this:
How's the Aywas economy?Customs are pets that are created to the buyer's specifications by an artist of their choice, or they can draw it themselves if they so choose. The type of custom is determined by the custom-making item used to create it. Some custom-making items are available all or most of the time as they are sold in NPC Shops, the Blue Custom Crystal for example. Some of these items are only available for certain amounts of time.
Well, we ask this question on the Aywas forums - see the topic Aywas economy: how would you rate it? - and the following comments were sent back to us:
I love the Aywas economy. It's so much livelier than any other virtual petsite (Heck, any browser-based game period) I've been on before.
I feel like money is always flowing about and around. I horde my money like a dragon then go ahead and spend it every now and then and make back more easily enough just selling random junk or whatever. xD
I really do feel like the Aywas economy is like a river. :3 People aren't incredibly stingy which makes money easier to make which makes people who earn money less stingy. xDI love a site that's a challenge without being a headache. <-- i love that line.. I only wish I am more art inclined than the art noob i am now. I really feel either donations / being artists are the only way to get rich fast.-hides- i am gonna be killed by many now.
I would still say BP is pretty easy to earn ONLY if you put in time.. :| I don't think anyone who logs in 30mins to an hour per day is getting rich fast ? IF you are, please teach me.I am like spending all my waking hours here and sleeping hours dreaming about here.
The economy on aywas sucks.... especially pet prices..... but if you think about it, if pets only sell for a little, people quit catching extras (I did, most of my LR and HR extras are from terrariums, eggs, and some left from v2.....) and actually pet prices had dropped BEFORE the switch to v3.... people were already putting up 1bp auctions...
The real fix might be to put a cap on how low (and maybe how high) prices could go. That way you don't have newbies or impatient people undercutting prices by so much and prices wouldn't have a chance to drop so low.... I don't mind the weapons being trash points, since I would hate to trash something valuable or useful, but we should be able to dump more.... and maybe make it free to put a pet in the adoption center, then people would do that instead of auctioning.... and make it so you can adopt more than 1 a day then it wouldn't get so full (I'd rather adopt pets to use potions on than open terrariums and add more pets to the site) and the limit makes no sense now that nobody puts valuable pets in there.... I think it's the terrariums that are adding so many pets.... and the more frequent finds of random eggs.... And newbies DO still need to use food and energy items, it's only us people with high leveled pets that don't (and I used a lot of energy potions to get here too) And pets are harder to catch than in v2.... now you almost are forced to buy a net and use it for all catches (unless you want to switch to a low level pet and spend a fortune on food and lose a lot of health to monsters....)So - you read a view comments of Aywas' economy - but what do you think? How's the economy been good for you?Maybe I'm not a good reader of economy, but I think the economy is just fine here (well, like any one, it could be better, but I don't think it is horribly bad or anything). Play cooking for a while and you're able to earn yourself a nice sum by the end of the day. I've tried pet selling and sure, it sucks compared to the items, but I don't find that surprising given that you can capture pets for yourself instead of buying them and as for the other rarity pets (AD and seasonal), you can easily buy a random potion that could be a lot cheaper than the actual worth of the pet (depending on the species of course). And then again there are tiny glittering rocks, which I think are absolutely vile from a pet seller's point of view. Because unless the pet seller has seasonal LRs or Hidden Rares, any seasonal pet isn't worth a lot anymore. ;x At least not until tiny glittering rocks stop producing a good chunk of pets. I mean if the species genus matched up at the very least, but it doesn't matter when using the item.
Item selling is okay. I don't see the problem in it. Items priced right don't rot in a shop. There are other sites where you can't even manage to sell most items. I think the aywas economy is functioning. :3
Aywas community
I'm an active member of the community - you can usually find me on the forums creating new topics for users to talk in - and quite frankly from what I've noticed, Aywas' community is very friendly, and I also find it great that I've met a few people on Aywas - and we're now friends on Facebook - this is a great important factor of a website - because if you don't have a strong community, you can't succeed online - and so far, Aywas has a very friendly community - that's very active.
Also, how active is Aywas?
Well, seeing how its 2:48 am and I'm writing this review - I'll display some stats from the footer(its users online):
If that tells you anything - and users tend to post a lot of comments on the site news - so that shows that the community is very active compared to some - and we believe that since Aywas is still new to the web - it still has a ton of room to grow. There are 175 users online now
Who's Online
Lag issues
Aywas has faced lag issues just like any other website online - but, these issues are currently being worked on - and hopefully the lag issues of the past will not be talked about anymore, because, as Aywas grows and expands to other users on the web - the lag issues of today shouldn't be a problem tomorrow - and plus, Aywas has a new server that they plan to move to - in the next day or to - so after they move to the new server, we'll see if they have anymore lag issues.
And plus, has the lag issues of Aywas turned you away from the community? I know it hasn't for me - and I believe as a owner of an online community, Aywas has nothin but time behind them - and in the future, I think Aywas will become an even bigger player in this niche - but guess what? They already are - according to our to our interesting stats on Marapets, Aywas and Neopets, Aywas is currently one of the largest pet sites online - compared to the likes of Marapets, Subeta, and Powerpets.
I've yet to see a pet site that's even more popular than this game - and plus, only time will tell what the future holds for Aywas.
So, how do you feel about Aywas? Are you a fan of its community? How long have you been playing Aywas?
And also - why don't you discuss the things that I failed to mention on my review?![]()
