thumbs up Review of Subeta by cpvr

Well, I've known about Subeta for so many years now - and quite frankly, its time to talk about Subeta's success on the web - and how I believe it can transfer into something truly bigger/special for everyone - why? Subeta has morphed into the social networking area - they want everyone to use Subeta has a place to chill out, meet new people, and have fun playing the game - so why don't I go back on topic and focus on the review?

Subeta opened up years ago - but something that has been bothering me for a while - is on of these pages http://subeta.net/about.php

    Main Statistics

The average user has 5,406,128 sP
The richest user has 16,324,168,906 sP
There is a total of 603,723,892,821 sP
The user with the most pageviews is Face with 6,811,958
There have been 3,207,201,566 total user pageviews on Subeta

There are 122,542 users of Subeta
    71 of which are staff
    and 10,868 that are suspended
There are 284,871 pets on Subeta

There are 30,228 unique items on the site
There are 40 shops on Subeta
In official shops, there are 21,100 items stocked

Note: This page updates every half hour
An about page - should focus on one - talking about the site - its vision - and what Subeta is all about - I think they should remove the stats from the about us? Why? Who cares about stats? I believe a good about us about Subeta would make the site more fun - why? Users want to know where the site is going, its vision, and whats it main focus points are, right?

    When did Subeta open?
Well this is what we have here - Subeta opened late 2004 / early 2005
But, Keith & company have morphed Subeta into one of the greater virtual pet communities on the web today - we're very proud of what they've accomplished.

Like, right now its almost 7 am - and look here:
    Users Online: 410
I remember back in the day - Marapets was bigger than Subeta - they had more users online - and advertising dollars than Subeta, but guess what?

When you focus on the community - and having fun, your users will promote the site - writing blogs - writing things that can drive new people, why?

Members just want to have fun, and feel that they're being listened to.

If I've learned anything about Subeta over the years - its Keith has the dedication and drive, he knows what he wants - and Keith knows his focus.

What? Well, he has been interviewed on the web http://stories.makingmylife.com/2011...-entreprenuer/

We had an interesting debate about this interesting stats on the big pet sites, Marapets, Aywas and Neopets - and you can see how everyone feels about certain pet sites - and why they're growing pretty fast.

    "Isn't Keith, gay?"
Yea, so what? You have a problem with that? Deal with it - he's still a great person. <3 this reason I believe has helped Subeta become different than others - members know they can talk about certain life issues, and Subeta's community will help them.
It’s why so many kids turn to suicide, drugs, or drop out. It’s a sad state of affairs when dropping out and taking a job at Burger King has a better light on it than going to school every day.
    - Keith Kurson, Entreprenuer
Keith knew his focus - he didn't get out of his parents house for no reason - he wanted to focus on his site, Subeta.net

And we believe, this main issue in Keith's life has made him more motivated to succeed - and quite frankly, Subeta's main success will come down to - "Do we have enough advertising dollars?"

    "Can we do this?"
"Can we focus on trying to beat better than Neopets?"

Guess what? I think they can - why? We all used to play Neopets - so we know what to do.

    Art
Subeta's art has been on of its main driving points of its success over the years, but we won't go into details on that - but here's some art images from them that we feel is great, and of quality, but you can post your favorite art pieces as well.

    The community
Subeta's community has been one of the best on the web - why? If something goes wrong, users don't go to "omg, fuck, we're in trouble", instead they focus on one thing - fixing the community - and if someone needs help - Subeta users are going to help them.

I haven't played Subeta in years, but I was a player in the beginning. - and plus, I lurk. I read things ^^
    I'm quiet.

So, how did Subeta grow so fast, cpvr?
Well, I really think it was because of Kuitsuku's art style - and her promotion efforts for them - but you guys can talk about it.

So, that's all I have to say, my Subeta review is finished.

Re: Review of Subeta by cpvr

I don't think I was that influential on Subeta. Back when I drew there, a bunch of my friends submitted artwork too and we had a lot of fun together. But as subeta expanded, they needed a more consistent style.
Subeta is like...the way Neopets used to be for me. You're inspired by pet artwork so you want to get that particular color and build your group of characters. At least, that's what it's like for me! <3
