What do you think about countdown timers for when a site is released?
Do they help make good hype for the site?

Yes, but only if you're 100% confident that you will be releasing on that day/hour. A delay with a countdown timer will not instill confidence from the user in your site.

Well - whenever you think its ready - as a site owner - you need to decide - is this the right thing to do? Should I introduce a few screenshots, or pet images?
