Wow, I was doing some research on Neopets - and a few users are mad as heck, they want to file a class action lawsuit against Neopets/Viacom for bad customer service, and losing their accounts for no reason.

We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.

I filled out all the forms and sent them in and got some scripted responses saying I did not have enough information to be sure it was my account. I knew the email addresses associated with the account, the password, pets created/adopted. More than enough to substantiate it was my account. I had bought neocash through paypal and my name and email address matched and everything. I offered to scan my driver's liscence and send it in. No reponse. I tried replying to the scripted answers and they ignored them all. I tried sending in the forms again and was no longer answered at all. I spent over $475.00 on neocash and was a premium member paying the yearly fee for 3 years. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they ignored it.

My account has over 1500 dollars worth of Neocash and Keyquest Tokens, not to mention random codes from other things. I've had no luck with emailing them, I just get sarcastic useless remarks from this company.

Neopets needs to be put to a stop. Ever since Viacom bought them out, they are all about our money. As soon as I buy something from them, I get frozen. Please solve this issue as its been going on to everyone

Also, they have automated staff and if there is actually a human staff, they repeat the same thing and are very rude and refuse to help. Their customer support needs improvement as well. They also lack a business number to contact them via phone for quality service and proof of human monitoration. Everything is automated on Neopets, this should be stopped.
Page 2:I think due to many complaints against Neopets, the lawyers here have an investigation ongoing and may help file an action with the Attorney General offices, as a class action.

I also have had My account frozen "for the users protection" after I unknowingly went into a shop that was obvioulsy a cookie grabbers shop, and its been 2 weeks now. It took them less than 12hrs to freeze My account after I notified them that I had been scammed but I have yet to receive an email back from them about getting My account back. I canceled My premium member ship because of this and I spent hundreds, possibly even thousands of dollars in on neocash for this site. They do nothing but use their customers and dont care an inkling about how they treat them. I think the next step for people who have been screwed by them is to start complaining and writing emails to their sponsors. Im sure that companies that sponsor them wouldnt want to be associated with such treatment as what they give their customers. I hope that this site is shut down and that the people running it are run right into bankruptcy.

I submitted a ticket, certain that this would be straightened out, but I've received two canned responses, basically blowing me off. The Neopets Team claim that I was "buying neopoints from a scammer" and that they have proof, yet they refuse to produce it. I am an adult, not a child. I play Neopets while my son is napping, never would I have a reason to cheat. The idea is absurd. This site has gone way downhill since Viacom bought it out.

would like to be a part of a class action lawsuit. They froze my account for something I don't even understand and are not replying back to me (buy/sell neopoints? they only allow you to buy/sell items through 3 methods; trade post, auctions, and shops). I wasted money (over 500 bucks) on their NC Items and I wasted more money on their monthly Premium Service. They have yet to show me why they REALLY froze and banned my account!! And where is evidence? What practices are they employing to come up with any 'so-called evidence', which they will probably tell me they have. I would like to see what they 'have'. They are a joke and RIPOFF!!!!!

The BBB rating for Neopets is a big fat F!As players - why are we getting banned for no reason, when our accounts are old?Can I also sign up for this? My five year old account just got frozen for 'buying neopoints/items/pets' when in reality I'm just a good reseller/restocker. My poor friend who JUST got the ball rolling on neopoints also got frozen along with me because apparently our interaction must have been suspicious.

We're trying to support the game, why are they doing this to premium account users?They froze my account for buy/sell neopoints when I was under the impression that they only offered certain ways to buy/sell ITEMS only (trades, auctions, and shops). They say one of my recent trades was a buy/sell neopoints attempt. It would have been nice for them to have explained the situation the first time around so that I would have understood what they were implying from the beginning. Instead they take forever to respond with automated messages and when they finally do respond they are rude and un-helpful!
They are unjust....unfair.
How was I suppose to know not to accept the trade? Neopets could have warned me! Now my hard work was a waste; as well as the hundreds of dollars I spent on NC Mall Items and the Neopets Premium Service.
I am really disappointed here at this loss. A lot of time and effort went into my account, don't forget money too (over 700 dollars I am sure of). I feel as though I did all that (for almost 3 years) for them to make up lame excuses to freeze people; without proof too! Then they refuse to investigate the issue for you. Neopets knows I asked them to repeatedly. I loved Neopets. I loved the NC Mall. I never cared about Neopoints. I wanted to have a mass collection of Mall Items and I DID! They took it away. They need to refund all that money!

Children are getting banned too?I also would like to join in on this, they've frozen my 2 older accounts which would be 8 or 9 years by now. They're very unjustly when it comes to freezing accounts for wrongly assumptions. The two old accounts I got frozen over were because I was being harassed on the boards and the people harassing me then I reported them but come to find out they reported me so Neopets froze my accounts. Then I summit an idea last week on my account and one of the staff members comes back and says this rude message which I have a screenshot of here:

Also, I have heard from a friend that Neopets had frozen ALL of his accounts because he had adopted and created many of the same pet? How is that against the rules if he REALLY liked the pet and wanted multiple ones? I don't understand.. Because last time I checked it wasn't against the rules to create the same type of pet. (UNLESS they updated their rules..) That's like saying "Oh, I'm sorry but we are going to have to freeze your account because you have too many Lupes, etc." You know, whatever pet you may like that you "may" have too many of.
This is beyond cruel, you'd actually think the staff members would be nice to their paying customers who play their games but no people who actually pay actual REAL money for games like this and end up getting treated like crap like this how do they intend on keeping their customers and their games up and running if they treat us like this?
They said this game was firstly made for college students when their staff is acting like a bunch of children.
This is the last time I'll ever give my ideas to people like them. Which makes me never want to spend another dime on Neocash for exclusive nice items for the pets.
I really hope the BBB actually investigates this, regardless of Neopets being one of my favorite sites, I'd rather see it shut down just so other people don't get treated like crap after spending money and all their time into the game for being wrongly frozen, rude answers to suggestions, question, etc..

I would also like to be involved in a class action against Neopets. I self froze after being key-logged on my Premium account and now they won't return my account saying I can't prove my identity. They are still debiting my C/Card though for my frozen account and alias even though they have said I am not who I say I am and I have been using the same C/Card for quite a while.
