Re: Reasons Why Not to Join Celendria (as user or staff)

    Woah, okay.
I said what I said because this is a petsite, something for the owners to ruin and not something for normal people to get depressed about. Kami, you shouldnt have ever felt like it was the only option, pay is minimal on petsites, especially new ones like Celendria - If money is that terrible, you really should look into other things. Getting so troubled over something so small is un-neccessary.
As for standing up for things in the world, I'm pretty sure I would, if I believed it something that mattered. You're referring to 'the outside world' which this is not. This is one of many websites with possibly a bad future, theres a lot of petsites/websites that never make it, and if I spent my days trying to change the cyber-world around me, I'd be here forever.

When I said you shouldnt have needed to make the thread, I wasnt saying you were wrong for doing so. My point being the staff and site alone should have realised already, and they dont deserve the time and effort of a thread when they're so mean to you - They're deciding the fate of their website and in the long run you wont be affected.

not something for normal people to get depressed about.
I guess I'm not normal then? I can't control my emotions and what I do get upset over. What I do know is that I did get upset over it, saying that I shouldn't have doesn't make those feelings any less real. Maybe for you, you could be fine with all that was listed, but for me, I can't. Especially not after having worked there for half year with all of this and more happening to me and those around me.

If money is that terrible, you really should look into other things.
There was/is (depending on who this could be addressed to) no other options. I know at least one staff member who was 100% dependent on them for money because they could literally not get work ANYWHERE else (not VP included).

My point being the staff and site alone should have realised already, and they dont deserve the time and effort of a thread when they're so mean to you
That's the thing, the staff (those implied) DON'T realize it (at least not openly). Users were also not welcomed to come forward about their dislike about the site publically (HAD to be done via PM). And that can make users unwilling to discuss their opinions due to the intimidation the staff brings. This thread helps them realize they were not alone. The current staff may not deserve it, but current and potential users and staff do. (Not only that, but this goes back to what I said earlier in helping other site owners as it shows them what happens when these issues are not addressed.)

They're deciding the fate of their website and in the long run you wont be affected.
The fate of the site is not of my concern (though I doubt they want their site to fail), though so far, I HAVE been affected by their actions towards myself and others. And personally, I will most likely stay affected as long as these issues are not addressed, and I don't see why I wouldn't be. They're wrongly hurting others with their words and actions, and that's something I very much despise.

@kami me if you want me to respond/see your message.

@clubanimon: The mods' corrections, in my opinion, aren't even "corrections" half the time; they're more like yelling to me. It used to be much more gentle but now I think it's gotten to the point where it's almost insulting a lot of the time. And I've seen multiple occasions where the users haven't even broken a rule, but they've broken one of those "common sense" rules, and when they bring it up, they're asked to discuss it over PM not in the shoutbox. Like that does any good, right? The unwelcomeness is not something you're alone in feeling, I'm sure, as several users have expressed to me these same concerns.

Also, I would guess that whoever bought cash shop money would be credited with the amount they'd bought?

@Ardy: I couldn't agree more with your last statements, and thanks for the input. I can imagine how difficult it would be, being a new user. I remember being confused at first, myself.

It is very unprofessional for someone to quit a staff team and then leak misinformation to the general public. However, all of these issues can/will/are being looked over, but I wonder mostly in why almost none of these issues were ever brought up on our suggestions forums or even to a member of the Core staff team?

We are working on things and expanding on issues that are presented. Every member on the staff is expected to follow the rules no matter what their rank or power position just like every artist is to fill their quota and do it in a timely and efficient manner that adheres to the site's standard of item quality. That will never change. Just as users are /always/ welcome to post ideas, criticism and analysis of the site on our forum for it, it is taken into account and if the staff likes it enough or come to an agreement with any changes, additions or removals, it will happen.

We do look at everything and may not always respond, we do look at it. Any problems with users are to be reported to a member of the Mod team, and any problems with Mods are to be reported to the Head Mod; April. While I won't trample on the beliefs of the people in this topic people should try the site our for themselves rather than taking the written word as absolute.

It sounds like most of you have decent points, and I hope that Raelynn and the other admins listen to them. However, I have to agree with Raelynn on this point...

You're all very passionate about the site, that's for sure. I hope your efforts bring you a positive gain.

That was my bad choice of wording, I'm not saying you're not normal, either. Im trying to say, that in general, people should not have to deal with abuse (as you've said) on such levels. As an employee you should not have had to work there under so much stress and you should have left a long time ago to prevent yourself getting so irritated that you became depressed for long periods of time.

There was/is (depending on who this could be addressed to) no other options. I know at least one staff member who was 100% dependent on them for money because they could literally not get work ANYWHERE else (not VP included).
Okay, so thats a real shame that they (or you) couldnt get work ANYWHERE else, but if you're telling me you're trying to pay off bills and general living expenses on such minimal pay (Most petsites really do underpay, maybe not their own fault but they still do) then your life in general must be incredibly hard. I live with my single parent, I cant afford a house on my own even if I'm working for Aywas. @Slashmaster pays me a nice amount to what I've accepted in the past and I still can't hold a house for rent on my own.
My point being, no-one should feel the need to LIVE from payment by doing basic petsite work on sites like this, which aren't big company-ran sites. I.. really dont know how it's possible.

This'll be my last reply, as I'm really not interested in insulting you further, as that's how it feels. Just to say I never intended to hurt your feelings, and I'm really not perfect with wording, obviously. Hope you manage to sort something out?

I agree, and I hope things like this doesn't happen in the future for them. Their site is still new, so of course, there's a few problems that may arise - but fixing them, and moving on, is the best thing to do at this point. @Raelynn

Current programmers were largely inactive until a volunteer programmer was allowed in who started doing their jobs for them for free.
Veo resigned and both Icy and I were on hiatus until last month. Icy is currently creating plan for rewriting the whole site from the ground up, and I recently rewrote user shops and have been fixing bugs as well. I'm currently working on redesigning the smithing commission system (which only users with smiths will be able to see unfortunately). Max was brought on to fix bugs because both Icy and I have our hands full.

I admit it's far easier to see Max's work because he tends to post it all in the news whereas I do not.

Also, I worked for free until last August... I don't know who told you otherwise.

edit--> Gee, your post even makes me depressed. xD

Just a little update with some further information that seemed relevant and important for users who want to play Celendria to be aware of.

Staff are planning a system-wipe of the site after beta ends, even though they had promised not to wipe the site again to the users after the last wipe

So I guess the wipe means starting over?
What the heck is the point of working hard to get where I got for nothing?
I really liked celendria but I would leave for good if that happens.
