Wow that's amazing. I've read alot about spirit guides and how to meditate to contact them, but without luck. I was also really into astral projecting after I was close to doing so randomly. It's a neat story so I'll tell it lol. It happened when I was taking a nap. I was woken up by my dad walking around the house but I just relaxed again and looked at the back of my eyelids. I saw something that looked like two blue exclamation marks. The more I focused in on them the brighter they got. Then my body started to vibrate and the sound almost like a big long gust of wind was blowing in my ear. It seemed like I could see out the back of my head and suddenly I felt like I was being pulled backward away from my body. Of course it scared me which brought me back to my body and I couldn't believe what just happened. So I relaxed and again I was being pulled backwards but I had this feeling that I shouldn't leave and to go back, so I did. I've tried over and over again to make it happen but, nope. It hasn't. Do you have any idea what it was about?

The only time I have been really been able to astral project is in my sleep, not when I am awake. Once I was able to do it when I was awake but it was just for a minute or two. I think because I died once and came back I can easily go into the spirit world in my dreams, and often I am just there for a short time then escorted out because I am told often I should not be there and it is not safe.

I think the wind in your ear was your spirit guide talking to you or a spirit. Was it like a flutter faint humming sound? And the pulling might of been spirits, but IDK. When I was younger and would have nightmares when I would wake up I often felt like someone tugging at my legs and like someone laying on top of me at times. Last year I found an article that other people who died and came back had had this same experience.

Also in the past I had dreams with weird symbols in them. So maybe the spirits was using explanation points to show you something, using a symbol that you would understand?

I grew up in Massachusetts where it seems you can't spit without hitting a ghost story. There were old graveyards all over the place and houses that dated back to revolution times. And yet I don't think I can say I've ever been in a haunted house.

Now when I was also a kid our local mall had the big multi high school haunted house each year. The last time I was at one was when I think I was...12? I got poked in the eye by a guy in stilts with long tinfoil claws that chased people through the last hallway. I left crying because my eye hurt. It didn't go so well and I sorta lost my love for it.

@Tantra The noise was really loud but it didn't hurt my ears at all. It was like someone taking a full breath and then blowing it straight into your ear. And it had the sound of vibration too. A buzzing. This happened on the worst day of my life, which may be why it happened in the first place. My boyfriend as-well has told me not to try to astral project because it isn't safe, but it's just so fascinating. I always wondered why I saw exclamation marks. Even once I could have sworn my name was spelled out in a faint white when my eyes were closed.

Pittsburgh has so many cemeteries. I ran through one the other night. I told the spirits I meant no disrespect, I was just taking the dog for a walk. lol

@Hazy, yes it can be a buzzing sound too, almost staticy like low frequency. Yes astral projection could be dangerous. Like I said I tend to go to a plane in my dreams that is in between the living in the dead, and at times I had spirits push me or tell me I should not be there, or tell me they would guide me then I had to leave. The reason it can be dangerous you can travel there and get stuck and not be able to go back, and pretty much die. But I do this when I dream and can't control what I do when I dream.

I am from Massachusetts too. I don't recall a lot of haunted places though. I do remember when I went to Salem though I got these really bad vibes there especially when I saw the church...like really bad things happened there at one time or times. I know my house was a bit haunted, but other than that I didn't really have much ghost encounters in Massachusetts. Now that I live in Oklahoma we have lots of places that are haunted because of Indian Land etc... lots of bad places because of this.

Most famous one for Mass is probably the whole Lizzy Borden house thing. And of course all the sunken ships off of Cape Cod (which is where I grew up)

I think I lived in the wrong part of Massachusetts then. I never got to go to Cape Cod, or the town where the house is with Lizzie Borden. I grew up in Lowell, then lived in Billerica, and been in lots of towns in those areas.

Yeah, the Cape is filled with ghost stories since the coast line has so many sunken ships. There is a couple stories I remember from Plymouth rock too. I think it really depended on what part of the state you frequented. The furthest inland I really ever got was Boston.

Oh that reminds me I stayed in a inn in Rockport Massachusetts once and I had the most creepiest dreams when I stayed there, and we were right by a cemetery too.
