Paladore - Review by Racoo

THE GOOD;
I will start of by saying that Paladore is a rather unique site with a brilliant concept.
You have an avatar that you can dress up and move around a map in "Palia" to catch "Pali", a great likeness to pokemon, but no choice in whether you get to catch a "Pali" or not, you can collect items, some limited and others are obtainable easily.
I will say when you first start, it is a slight challenge.

Paladore has decent art and are constantly updating, improving and adding new features, overall, in general it is an amazing game.

THE BAD;
The staff team needs to work on a few things, such as organization, connection with the userbase, and I feel it would greatly help for the staff to be less impersonal when dealing with user issues.
I have been playing since their first week of opening and have noticed a lot of unnecessary slander from some of the staff, clearly stating that the members opinion doesn't mean much to them.
Don't get me wrong though, the owner Ole and Tom, are absolutely lovely, although I believe they should consider looking into the way their staff treat their members and work out whether they communicate before acting apon things.

Although I am sure the review is quite appreciated, I felt like this was a jab at the staff rather than a review of the site.
In a review if something is said, especially something negative, atleast state alittle more supporting statements to why you feel a certain way about what you are saying.
I would have loved to see more information on game play.

Also the choice in capturing a "Pali" is random and based on your battle squad beating the "Pali"
I believe that the chances to capture one (or more) corresponds to the defeats.
You have a choice to capture the "Pali" itself and have it added to your captured list or it is added automatically to your seen "Pali" list if you have defeated it for the first time but did not capture it.
You also have the choice of capturing its soul.
With this each "Pali" has a soul tree and you can attach these random souls to your "Pali" in order to make them stronger. (I love this feature.)

Figured I'd elaborate alittle on that for anyone who hasn't played yet and might be interested in the feature.

The Staff part of this was extremely hurtful in my eyes. But nevertheless, I have a feeling I know where this is coming from, and even though I don't feel it to be fair or considerate of what we have been dealing with for the past month, you are in your right to have your own opinions even when it comes to reviews. However I will say that this seems more of a biased review then anything considering the issues which have been unfolding between hard working staff and users who have been against us for how we try to manage things.

There are a hundred reasons why we have been as you claim "useless". But these are our reasons alone and we had hoped our community which we adore and love and care about would have been considerate and patient with us as we dealt with our own private stressful matters backstage. It wasn't of our responsibility to address with you of these matters, but we had hoped for your part in being patient and respectful as we tried to work through those issues nonetheless. But... we were wrong and that's clearly our fault.

We are very sorry to see that you either don't feel that we cared enough about our member base to hear what you guys have had to say; because really, we've given everyone the chance to speak openly about any issue they felt they needed to address publicly. In general, unless it was disrespectful - which is against the rules, something not everyone seems to agree upon - we only ask that members take more serious matters to the forums. There, Staff will then be able to go back and review everyone's opinions, remarks and/or suggestions over any matter bothering them. Our only wish has ever been that you be respectful, constructive and considerate with what is said. In which case when this was being ignored and questioned, we finally had to take action and began doing our job, much to the dislike of some - which is why, I'm sure, these forums are suddenly being created the night after we had to take action against someone who wouldn't respect our wishes, however much even I tried to resolve whatever issues they had with us or fellow users.

Absolutely none of our given punishments have been unnecessary. We cannot help it if users who have been given them disagreed with them or even disliked them, they were only ever given within reason. There have even been times where we are lenient on punishments not only due to limitations we had but because we felt members deserve chances. Which is why we give out reminders, warnings, jail time and sometimes even fines before we resort to banning our users. We hate it. But sometimes it obviously has to be done.

If anything, the Staff Team live off the opinions of our members. Otherwise comments like this wouldn't bother me so deeply.

The users are your customers and you should never consider that they are against you. If they have a problem with the way that something is being handled, that means that you should take a look at it and consider the point of view they are making. I hardly think that the customer is always right, but the way you worded this made it out to be like you think the users are your enemy.

It's generally the actions which had been taken /against/ us that made me even use the word. Though I admit, I worded this poorly.

Users aren't the enemy, and I don't see them as such. But like I said, I had hoped that the majority of the community would have been more patient and understanding than this.

I should also generally state - has nothing to do with Keith's post but what someone else said to me - that I'm not hurt by this, but what is being said and done is hurtful towards staff. Especially those who do work hard and actually take things seriously. So I feel it best that you consider them and their hard work before making reviews such as this, because they certainly deserve better than 0/10.

I legit can't name one person that was unnecessarily banned. It seems to me that users are predestined to hate anything a mod does. I think I've banned one person the whole time the site has been open, and that person had over 25 accounts. If someone gets banned/jailed, there is a reason for that happening. Just because we don't release every single detail to the public doesn't mean it isn't there. As a mod I'm pretty sure my job is to keep the site as a nice, welcoming place for everyone. I'm pretty sure that when there are huge arguments in the shoutbox, the majority of the people on the site are not going to want to participate in them. There is a debate forum for a reason.

Honestly I think that the staff deserve a much higher score than a 0/10. They work hard everyday to do their best and I myself am very thankful for everything they've done for the community. Without them there would be so much user bashing going on and they really do give it their all to make sure they can prevent stuff like this happening. The staff in my opinion are very open to feedback and they've been more than fair with certain things especially the jailing feature. Many other sites would simply ban the users or underage them, if you've never played another petsite other than this one before.

This is more than untrue as the artists on there also deserve credit for the hard work they do, and making sure to create things not only the staff team will approve, but the entire community will like, too. I think the staff on here are much more dedicated with their jobs than other staff on certain sites are so I believe they deserve more credit than they are being given at the moment.

To start with, i hope me posting here will not affect my account or staff attitude towards me in any way on paladore. I made no attempt to hide whom i am or the problems ive had. Thankyou.

Hi all, im bacon. I started paladore day 1. Infact i was V.I.P (lol), and lets just say i am very outspoken. I came to paladore from ichumon and right away began my style of gameplay. I am vocal and i am a collector. So i sat in the shop day in and day out and in the sb constantly posting and having fun. In fact, i was having loads of fun! Playing the way I would like and not having any regulations towards that.

However a couple days into game play, i was told to stop having a convorsation, in which many were participating but a particular player found "awkward." I understand that if many find a convorsation rude and disgusting and blah blah they can close their own shoutbox. BUT if the convorsation we are having is in no way rule breaking why was i forced to stop talking about it. Am i not within the rules to have a convorsation that is both respectful and educational just because one player finds the convorsation awkward.

Beyond that, a few days later i was given a verbal warning in the sb (not even privately messaged to me) by a GM telling me to stop boasting. What was i boasting about you may ask, oh just the tiny fact that i had finished a COMPLETE collection in one of the many categories one could complete. Ofcourse i get a verbal warning for that but players who constantly post their XP gains, flute finds, pali captures, etc may continue at their wish. Hmmm.

Also, and ive made this a point in the forum its self. The hiring of psychics. I will use an example for today. In a players treasure chest, they may add any description they want (within rule boundaries) and one particular player decided to go with a pirate theme and name it her "booty", i found this funny and decided to tell her i was "staring at her booty" albeit it may sound bad to some players but the girl in question posted in the SB to clarify that she was going with a pirate theme. All is said and done we have a few chuckles but i am msged with a "friendly reminder" which btw is forever located in your warnings that im not to msg people about their "bootys", this psychic (whomever they may be) saw my post and imediatley decided they knew what i meant and decided to warn me. When the post was clarifyed in the SB.

Finally (and this one peeves me) when you make a joke with a friend ex: Lol dragon your such an anoying looser, if another player finds this offensive they may report you and you WILL get warned for it, even tho you are being sarcastic and joking with YOUR FRIEND. IMO if one posts towards another player like the above, if the player being "made fun of" doesnt report WHY is there a warning / action being taken?
