I loved pokemon xD
I never really got into digimon.
Pokemon was a story I could always follow![]()
But, now With the newer pokemon, I don't really find it fun anymore. They just keep coming out with new ones :/ There are too many.

Loved pokemon and still love it for a long time!
I liked Digimon when I was small, but I was never able to keep up it's quick pace - At least the anime. Though I do like the concept!
That's just the way with every franchise that goes on a long time now. Like the kids who think Episode I-III are good and classic Star Wars isn't. If you started with the current Pokemon series you'd probably enjoy it just as much as the first one ... though the theme music isn't as good as the Pokerap![]()

@Hituro
Haha the pokerapI remember those days, but since I did get to start at the begging, I know what kids are missing lol
It's like Power rangers. So good when I was little, now when I see it, im like WTF wheres Kimberly? LOL

Digimon for sure @A@ I prefer the digimon designs by a mile, the plot and it's willingness to try new things (even though sometimes it doesn't work x3) That and the characters were well developed and relate to in comparison to pokemon's approach of a blank-slate every-hero. Though I'll be the first to admit digimon has had a strangely bad time coming out with a video game that's really good and pokemon is superior in that regard? But then again Pokemon video games are sup par in comparison to the third member of the 90s-monster-franchise family; Monster Rancher. But not as many people know about Monster Rancher unfortunately :/ but I found it more addicting in the department of collecting, raising, breeding and battling critters than anything pokemon had.
So anime = Digimon, video games/merchandise = Neither; monster rancher does it best.

I actually wonder, what's the huge difference between Digimon and Pokemon though? I'd never really looked into it.
What does digimon offer that Pokemon doesn't? Same goes for Pokemon over digimon.

@cpvr;
Here are some of the basic differences and a sort of outline over what the two things are about -
Pokemon - oriented around 'gotta catch em all. 'Pokemon are more like animals in that they cannot speak, and have designs influenced from real life. The games are oriented around capturing and battling, while the anime follows the main character in his quest to be the best Pokemon trainer.
Digimon - are fully sentient, talking beings. Instead of 'gotta catch em all,' the theme of Digimon is basically that you and your 'mon are partners (though the games have a collecting/battling aspect as well). They often have more outrageous designs because they are not limited to inspiration from real life critters. There are plenty with guns or armor strapped on, many of the designs are more detailed or even 'busy' compared to those of Pokemon, and many designs are humanoid (since they're less like pets than partners). Unlike Pokemon, Digimon can evolve and devolve, and their 'digivolution' can branch off so they can become many different things.
The Digimon anime is much more varied that the Pokemon anime, and I personally prefer the Digimon anime to the Pokemon anime.
They have actual plots and character development, and the plots can even be very touching sometimes... honestly, I think I nearly cried once when watching a Digimon movie. ;-; Gameplay-wise I definitely prefer Pokemon, though, as it has more to do, and the capturing/collecting/fighting is actually mapped out in a pretty deep system.
Design-wise, I love critters from both series. Some designs comparisons:

(I actually think that the new dragon duo, Reshiram and Zekrom, could pass off as Digimon, though. There are a lot of Pokemon that could work as Digimon, but not that many Digimon that I can think of that would work as Pokemon, especially not the more personified ones.)
I love both of these monster-related series to death, and both were huge parts of my childhood. They were what got me into virtual pets, too!

Story wise I tend to enjoy Digimon a little better. Especially Season 3. It took a much more mature/dark take on the series though I haven't really had much interest in in past that. Pokemon however I probably will fallow until I die. While I may have stopped watching the shows after the Johto Region I still continue to play and enjoy their games u vu <3
Both of them hold a special place for me <3
